Without patched firmware like vix, or openhdf, or atv we will be stuck with the pli image.
What happens when pli4 needs a patch??

Does it means current PLi don't need a patch? Are PLi XP1000 images we can download from openpli site readily usable for flashing? I doubt so..

Ordered yesterday getting fooled by "Supported officially by OpenPLi, OpenAAF and the ViX Team.".. now i read that only couple of old patched image crap is usable. I just cancelled my order today. I really hope this goes without any further issues and re-scams... absolutely intolerable how they advertize that s#$@!

Sadly your not going to be the only one, which is another reason i make a point of saying that we ( ViX and the whole OE-Alliance including AAF / ATV ) want nothing at all to do with these boxes officially or otherwise.

What im saying is openpli 4 is patched and will update online right now, however that wont last long and pli4 will need to be patched again or you wont be able to update online....
The only working vix build 600 can not be updated online or you get a black screen.

Unless the factory release patched firmware regular you will have a box stuck at where it is right now. Or you will have to manually add drivers to get plugins and the like to work......if you can find them that is....

OK i get it.. so they do ship these boxes with aleady patched OpenPLi. I bet that crashing problems and other strange behaviours some ppl have reported here are related to poor patch and/or using early development stuff and drivers or bootloaders they used. Anyway.. it's pointless to hope that chinese sellers gonna provide you longer support with patched images and updates. As soon as they relase next crappy clonebox you'll be kicked ass anyway.

not great support for these , maybe it will come maybe it wont, saying that the dm800, dm800se and vu solo clones have very good support

EDIT *As sods law would dictate, the box crashed for the 1st time today with a green screen, i'll try locate the problem before i dump and upload the flash image*

I'm currently making a nice stable tweaked version of OpenPli with fully up to date software & the essential plugins all installed. I have had it running all morning and it's been rock solid, as soon as the Spurs vs Man U game is finished i will upload it to this post.

It contains Autobouquets 28.2e, TsMedia 4.7 beta3, On Demand, CrossEPG, CoolTV Guide, 99% correct Picons.

It runs from flash, no external drives needed.

All you will need to do is set your area in Autobouquets & run it to get the correct local channel order, then add .................. if you use one.

nice so how did you patch the images ps2gamer?

Nothing complicated, just need to replace the kernel and the modules that are in the update 20131120-cloud-ibox2-software
I have not yet done compilation Kernel, but I think the change is minimal, and just apply the activation of additional modules in the configuration of the Kernel.
I can not guarantee anything but I try to do a version of Black Hole 2.0.7.1, I'll have to adapt this version on an unknown model (XP1000), and the CPU BCM7358a

Its the factory image of OpenPli 4.0 but it updates fine from the official server so has all the latest commits.
