Hi. Magicians have been around for years and some make good money from the sat business their motto is:
Hi From the picture it looks very difficult to put a larger dish with a motor. Is it easy to get on the roof or do you need ladders. What about on the side of the house..do you have a clear view of the sky in the direction where the dish is pointing. I might be tempted to come down to Leeds and sort it out for you.
Hi Well they must have got up on the roof in the beginning to put dish up. Does the roof have a loft window to give access to the roof? Otherwise your best bet is to attach a scaffold pole to a wall mount and put motor and dish on the pole . The pole would need to be high enough to get the satellite signals etc. The pole could be mounted on the front or back of the house. I am sure it can be done one way or other.
Hi . Ok so you have an attic window which opens and takes you on the roof. Then i would suggest , so long as the floor of the roof is strong enough to walk on etc, you could get a local installer and get a quote or do it yourself with safety in mind . I would personally get a professional to do it. Its not difficult to do but its the safety aspect you need to be aware of. You dont want a dish or motor etc falling off the roof onto the street. Like i said i have never installed a dish on a chimney due to the hassle it may give you..its not worth the risk. In my opinion nobody needs a dish on a chimney as there are other ways of doing it.
Regards
Hi Its not difficult to line up buts it the way you go about it ie you will need a method of checking the signals as you may need a small tv with you on the roof etc.
