bull shit, we signed up to espn 4 12 month at 1/2 price, sky can not charge you anymore than 1/2 price because they will then be breaking contract

When you subscribe you are entering a contract-that is the same for Sky-they have agreed a set fee for a set period-if they do not adhere to this they are in breach of that contract-I have my printed order which is correct and forms part of that contract-and at the end of the day we all have the right to cancel-but most people probably won't quibble over ?4.50-I think we are in danger of missing the point of one year (v.cheap) all-in HD tv which gives one year closer to a fix.keep it real people and chill.Comment

See what you lot dont get is this.
The codes you all have been using are codes that can only be used once and Im aware that Sky are investigating accounts that have used such codes.
The fact that ESPN is listed on Sky's order page is not the point but you all know the actual deal is for:
Free sky box
Free install
No HD Subs for 12 months
and half price package (thats half price Sky package)
ESPN is not a part of Sky and Sky have to pay them for viewers subs.
So when a customer signs up for an extra package say the Chelsea football channel then the customer is actually paying them the fee and not Sky as Sky dont have anything to do with Chealsea football do they.
And this is the same as ESPN.
Sky can terminate any contract they wish, they can write to you and inform you of the error and its then up to you to decide what to do next.
Madning yes but you all know you are not supposed to use those codes in the first place anyway.sigpicAny information I provided is for educational/experimental purposeses only.Comment

If Sky are investigating why are they still fitting systems which used these codes? Also, I have done a bit of research and similar codes have been used before, there was a batch around xmas, and they had theres fitted and no one has reported any bad things.Comment

well i've had mine fitted, and didn't order espn, though was close to ordering it. It said ?4.50 on the form. If it isn't half price, then why did sky have it for half price on their page?
If they have to pay ESPN the full price, then they can pay it out their pockets and take it off the people in charge of their website for making a big fat booboo. It was clearly stated ?9 and when you added it, it showed up at ?4.50.
and if sly want to give it the large about these codes, they can come take their dish back. who gives a buck??
theres always an alternative.
end of.......

These codes are family and friends codes issued to staff, engineers etc and they get put on sites and every tom, dick and harry uses them.
They are not codes released to the general public.sigpicAny information I provided is for educational/experimental purposeses only.Comment

yeah....fine....i take your point mate. why are they still installing the systems, even after nearly 2 weeks.. must have had enough time to carry out their investigations by now if they wanted to do anything about it.
i say this is what they wanted, an influx from the nag3, its funny how these codes are out at the same time.
it's just a nice way to stick 2 up at vermin, after them spending all that money on the switch......sly get ajority of customers.....it's clever ploy by sly and that's why they at the forefront of ptv mate.Comment

Its not a ploy and if engineers stick to the rules of issueing the codes they would not be in the open for all to use.
One code = one customers.
Once the systems are in there is no point in taking them out but as I said the codes are use only once and registered against a email address and name of the first user and all codes are specific to an employee.
Anyway, no point in harping on its al done, just enjoy.

I thing Sattalk is right in saying that ESPN is not part of Sky and the price structure for ESPN is not up to sky and sky only collect subs for them. Saying that, sky did include the ESPN package at half price, this of course may well have been a mistake. But there are many people on here who have ESPN on their package with half price.
If Sky suss this out then its up to Sky to do what they wish, let the people who got the offer carry on or cancelle the contract or ask for the full subs.SLOWLY, OUR FREEDOM IS BEING ERASED.
SOON, WE WILL JUST BE A NUMBER.
IF WE DON'T FOLLOW, WE WILL BE ERASED.Comment
