            spiderbox with gift

            That all sounds good.

But i am a real beginner so have a few more questions
Must the spiderbox be connected to a pc in order to operate? and if so with a lead or by wireless to router?

Does the spider box gift work on all satellites like hotbird, Hispasat & thor etc or just one satellite?

I have a motorised dish which is set up fine & a technomate receiver is it difficult to change over receiver and tune it all in?

I tried the forum but could not find the answers.

Sorry for sounding like a dick asking all the questions, and i really appreciate your help guys.

            Many thanks

              spiderbox with gift

When i ask does the spiderbox need to be connected to the internet. I mean connected to the internet in order to view the scrambled channels, and is setting it up to view scrambled channels difficult.

              Cheers

You will need the spiderbox to be connected to the intenet 24/7/365....And this is done by connecting it to a router ( assuming you have a router ) It will needed to be conected from the same day you get it if you want to use the gift.

The box can be patched so no you don't have to be connected to the net you only need the net if you want the gift m8..

Not really mate there are a few packages which are opened via patches.

@ OP, the Spiderbox is a great machine mate and without a doubt the easiest machine to setup that I've ever had my hands on.

The original question was for the Spiderbox + gift...surely its needed to be connected 24/7/365 for the gift to work.
I am having problems getting it to connect to my debian server what runs 2.1.3, even after installing the latest " Darkman Patch-Spiderbox_HD_7000_0524_K.UAD " can you tell me exacly how you did yours ?? I can get it to connect using Newcs, but i really am struggling with it to be honest.

Are them offline(patched) opening packages unique to the Spiderboxes capabilites?.. or can any receiver open them with softcam's and patches.. like a DB or TM?

I know cams can open stuff that other receivers cant, but does this Spiderbox open things also when offline' that other boxes would need custom cams to open

Or is its "patches" just the same as a DM key bundle and spftcams or a patched TM

If the answer to that is no, then what is so special about this box apart from the gift and being easy to setup.. I only ask because anyone who knows anything about this kinda stuff would usually know how to setup any "already-out" capable receiver and link to a C/S

What is it about this box thats so uncalled for, and that isnt out already?.. like a regular old DM500s and C/S
