    Sky Clamping Down on piracy

In the past 3 weeks alone i have head more and more people having their cards de-activated by sky. On calling Customer service one is told to write email to the investigations department for the reasons why the card is off. This has happened even to a friend who was on holiday for 36 days, on his return all subscribed channels were off and EMM still 2 months valid.

I dont think they know if one is doing CS or not, but what they know is the card is not being used in official box. This is affecting both multiroom customers and single box. And of all the ones affected so far sky is refusing to re-activate the cards, at the same time they havent cancelled the contracts

Broadband dont matter anymore now. I head they are using a combination of talk back and ECM. If your card is not talking back and at the same time using higher ECM then you are done

ok so its just hearsay, we will find you sooner or later, as for the broadband its a fair question mate, if we take notes on if there all running servers on sky bb with the same ports open ,e,c,t it willl help to build a pitcher

yeah thats right ! I heard that over 50% of all calls to Sky are related to deactvation of the Sky Cards, and nearly all are people have either been on holidays or have two or more Homes were the Power or the receiver is switched off for long periods.

Most who C/S or are involved in the Satellite community know about the Activation or update Code once a month or so and this is not a Problem for us/them, and most are aware of the situation and keep a close eye on Paring the Card with the receiver for any updates.

Sky are only harming the Subscriber that in reality know nothing of Sharing or even use a Linux receiver with there Viewing card by going on Holidays or working Abroad, own more than one home with another Sky Subscription.

I think Sky will drop this in the near future when they realise its not us that its Hurting but the Honest subscriber whos life does not orientate around a Television set.

Why risk having your card de-activated and an Sky/NDS investigation...It's no hardship putting the card back in the paired dodgibox once a month

3 of the people i know were visited thursday and friday by an NDS investigator. He told them that ''We know you are doing CS'' When asked for evidence he said they have pleanty.

One of the guy is just a client of a Pay server and he doenst run any server, Tiscali broadband, he last connected a phone line to his box 2 years ago but card is always in official box.

Question is: Is he bluffing or its just that they think anyone not connecting his box to phone is a pirate?

when do you know when to put card back in sly box as i think my card needs updates about every 6/8 weeks so should i just put it in once a month anyway?

ive also changed to cccam/newcs to stop any updates so will update in original box
