Skronk, if you are able to tune into "Law and Order" have you managed to spot the STV HD "DOG" in the top left corner of your TV yet ?
IS STV STILL NOT AVAILABLE ON FREESAT ?

well mate i found it as 3855 and as stv, but not stv HD, it must only broadcast as HD during the day, i dont know as i never see the tv during the day, could someone confirm this for me ??
Also, i hate how i have to flick to "other sat" then find stv and then do the same going back to normal freesat, is there not a way that we can just save the shiity standard view stvs we'v found over to freesat to have us jumping back n forth ???
What happens if we put in like a glasgow postcode in freesat and scanned, surely it would find the proper stv then, or would it still be all that standard definition garbage late ate night anyway ?? i.e - not worth the while ?
At least the main ITV HD llooks pretty much good, thats why i have freesat tuned into a london postcode, but it means we miss out on scottish programmes unless we want to watch then in standard view or maybe they are HD during normal hours, someone please confirm ? or are we better just leaving it set to the london itv hd ?
are they ever going to get round to broadcasting STV HD on the real freesat, and when ? and then that makes me think of bbc scotland HD, is that ever going to happen ?Comment

The only way to get STV HD at the moment is to manually tune it in as you have already done as there is no room for it on the Sky EPG or Freesat EPG; so you cannot add it to the Freesat EPG (or Sky EPG) you will have to wait for them to make room for it. Having said that, you may be able to make a favourites list(or Profile) on the Panasonic and include it in that.
As stated earler there are very few(or none) programs available in HD during the daytime schedule and not many in the evening. Those that are in HD will have (should have) the STV HD logo in the top left corner of the screen. Programmes that do not have this logo are merely upscaled SD and not native HD.
Tonight, the only programmes in true HD are "Coronation Street" at 8.30 pm and "Being Victor" at 10.40 pm. the rest are just being upscaled.Comment

Sorry...I may have misled you. Skronk..
You can still view STV HD on a Sky HD box by using the Add Channels feature and entering the tuning details that I gave earlier.
Services-Options-Select-Add Channels
When you have saved the channel labelled"3855" then you can access it via the Other Channels feature.
Services-Options-Select-Other Channels
and choose "3855" from the channel list .(Which is what I do.)Comment

On the banner in that section the option is "ITV HD" not STVSkronk..

The only HD this channel shows is "national broadcasts" e.g.
Daybreak
Whitechapel.
Programmes like Taggart which are Scottish made only show in SD (even on ch.3855). This can be verified by the reply from STV to me in post no.27....see above.
Thanks for all suggestions, but we are flogging a dead horse getting HD fro Scottish Television.Comment

Yes you are correct. These are not STV productions, they are ITV productions. My problem is with STV productions like Taggart.
Can you tell me why Taggart, on the same channel (3855 displays as ITV HD), made in HD in Scotland by STV, shows as SD on this channel.
I think the answer is in the email reply from STV.
STV will not permit the showing of "in house made" programmes through the national network in HD.Comment
