Now why should anyone want to buy this HD satellite box i hear you ask well i assume most of you reading this are already aware but if not let me just say that the available 3rd party unofficial firmware when flashed gives this unit the ability to enter your own cccam or newcamd information easily by using the remote control to enable its use with the so called satellite cardsharing phenomenon going around. There's no need for ftp'ing into the box and you can switch between a multitude of c-lines easily if you need to.

Anybody concerned about the sound quality? According to the review in WotSaT (Feb issue) the Blade 7000 is a bit dull both on both analogue and S/PDIF outputs. Doesn't sound too promising if you use it a lot for listening to radio broadcasts!

i have a problem with the picture glitching. am i ok to download the official firmware update although i have a third party firmware on there. i have no c line just fta channels and connected via ethernet

when on earth will they sort out the epg for this box? now and next is rubbish !!

The EPG works perfectly, point it at a German channel on 19e and watch it populate.

If you are referring to Sky UK that uses a non-standard (some say encrypted) EPG, that is not the boxes fault. If they manage to get it to download Sky EPG Data from an external source, that would be a major bonus.

Blade HD 7000

Is this a good first box for an absolute beginner ? I have a Kryptview hangover (cable) and looking @ other options. I have no dish etc and if this box is a good starter? what will I need with it is there a section I can go to for all the relevant info, and will I be able to get all the channels I once had with Kryptview.
Way to many questions I know but need the guide of you fellow members.

I tried the un-patched firmware Yesterday and did not get 7 Days EPG on Sky UK. So, either I didn't do it correctly or when they say 7 Day EPG, they do not mean Sky UK.

i tried it to and only got 7 days on european sats not sly uk

On the Sky UK channel lists available to download, they do have the EPG data channel leading me to believe they intend to get 7 Days on Sky. I don't know if there should be some procedure to load it from there.
