Ken the lnb change will only make a difference if the existing lnb loss is significantly higher than the new one. The thing that makes the real difference is the dish size.

Ken just noticed u said u were getting 72% signal strength. That should be ok if the quality and ber r reasonable as well.

I don't know anywhere in Scotland you can get sat stuff, actually sorry i have read there is a guy at Blochairn market sells sat reciever's so maybe he sells dishes, lnb's etc, but i'm not sure, if that helps any. I would definately get another lnb as the sky one is optimised for a sky dish, so you would get better result's with a new one.

I live about 90'ish miles further north than Glasgow, and i just looked up lj's and went and tried to get these channels, i can get Saudi sport's on 26e with about 50snr and it's a decent picture, i only get 29snr with Kuwait tv on 26e and it is unwatchable, i can't pick it up on 30w at all. I have a dm800 with a 1 metre dish.


I am using a smart titanium lnb and find it to be good, i have read that the Inverto Black Ultra is meant to be really good, but i bought one to try and i found it to be not as good as what i have already, it dropped the snr down on every channel and the picture was not quite so good.

have you got a DM500 clone..?? some of the chinese copies have dreadful tuners..

Ken at Blockairn and sometimes Polmadie car boot on sunday there are guys selling sat stuff including dishes and lnb's. I was offered a 90cm for ?35. Not sure how much he wanted for 120cm. Other than that I am not sure where u would go as it is years since I bought anything locally.
Re lnb type I had a 500s before and had to change my MTI lnb to a Invacom to be able to pick up all the frequencies.

using all info. so far ,i would think a 120cm-150cm dish would suit best .there are lots of suppliers of dishes and boxes with next day delivery for a reasonable cost.just google.best of luck.

Ken checked the signal this morning (very cloudy and raining).

From above I would say ur best chance is to try pick up saudi sport but as u can see from above it is not totally conclusive
