hi m8 just noticed the probs you having with box sayin on, i used latest firmware and erom software, the pc was running xp(dident work with vista or 7 for me) i bought pci card with null connection but failed so used a friends pc with onboard null connection and hey presto box back to life. ps the firmware was from here bout march time i think 21st march?
hope this helps pps box must be off at the switch on back and when you hit next switch box back on and wait, keep trying different time delays between hitting next and switching on .good luck

on vista mate , but done lots of boxes with this rig and cable , did you vary the timing of turning the unit on ?

is this the correct procedure dave
                      start tool with box off
turn on box when when screen display is as above ?
vary the time in turning the box on ?

the box seems to stay stuck at that stage dave , how long does it take to recognise the box usually ?

                      cheers mate

here is what dave pm`d me

have a look here http://sataid.net/forum/showthread.p...ont-work/page2 pay close attention to post #27 + 32 +34 +36, This method has worked for a good few people.....The timing I found to go like this... mouse in right hand on/off switch on the openbox in the left hand, click on connect with the mouse and then switch openbox on more or less at the same time.
I hope this works for you......Good Luck.

dave , the time it did work for you how long did it take , did somethin happen onscreen straight away , as i still at it but no sure how long to leave inbetween each try to see if it has worked

                            cheers mate

After trying lots of different loaders I came to this one that you have and it just would not work until I tried it with the March 15th firmware, when I tried it with this firmware it just connected straight away, On the loader you have a little box to tick if you want to include the bootloader, I ticked the box to include it, if that doesn't work try it without ticking the include bootlaoder.

i have wasted about 10 hours on this , and still no further , i must have tried every possible combo of f/w and timing ,
does anybody know of any other method to recover (j-tag maybe)?
