Openbox S10 Front of Box saying ON ??

I have the 'no display ' problem let's hope I have luck with the software kndly posted here.

I had a s10 showing oN so tried downloading the fix, but couldn't get it to connect using usb to serial adapter, then I notice after a few tries it was showing boot instead of oN, I take it if you turn on and off a few times if you have the oN issue that eventually it will goto boot ?? When in boot mode it came up the skybox logo but I could do nothing with the remote then turn off and on and it loaded to a channel, so I have now flashed anonymous hacked firmware and all is well.

So my question is does the oN actually mean it is broken, or is it recoverable with a few reboots ????

You were lucky and the firmware was just a little corrupt.

From experience i have flashed about 10 of these boxes with different issues, i ran into problems with 2 boxes that i could not connect via a null modem USB cable.

Please only carry this out if you are Electrically competent.

Remove the rear cover via 3 + head screws.
Disconnect each module 1 at a time and attempt reflash.

In my case i had a faulty RJ45 network port, and a faulty display panel.

I replaced both with spare parts from box a bought with faulty main board off fleabay and was able to bring back to life.

firmware

if you kill it with firmware,it's a firmware issue.
If the box is used and dead,anything goes.
It could even be a bent pin on the cam connector.

I've only seen that after loading old solomend 800 firmware.
I recover via rs232 and loader v2.0.0c

DB help

I have used a laptop with usb to serial for six years without any problems.

Dbox?????????? The best way to flash the dbox was to have it switched on hit the start on the loader then quickly switch off and back on for a 99% success.

have s10 killed want to try to get it back but some how my pc cant connect any more through com1 port. even today it was working and now stoped cant find corect port can anyone help to sort it out as seen somewhere how to do it but cant find it anymore

open box flash reset ? which port ??

When I've done it the fail took about what seemed like 20 seconds to appear.

When you click next try different delays before powering the box. ie. 1, 2 or 3 second..

which port ( com ???? )do I use ?? the erom upgrade always shows " open serial port failed " Please reset target.

make sure you even have one.
com1 is the default.
