Openbox Channel List inc Asians Updated Regularly

Newbie here.... i am having trouble updating via the usb... Before doing this, i made a dump of my current settings and stored them on my laptop... I have a menu already created with 8 categories but i now just want the one on here (i assume there is just 1 of each channel and not ten ITV's etc...). I have downloaded the zip file and extracted the folder to the root of my usb key. I have also taken the file outside of the folder itself so i have 2 versions of the same file on my usb key. I then plug usb into openbox s9, it picks up the stick, i go to upgrade by usb, misc files, select and upgrade... I get 10 options but choose the first one, "TP_PROG.dbs" and hit upgrade, it says burnflash and ends very fast. When i press info, it says file not found... The file is definately on the USB key (twice).... Do i need to delete my current menu system first or what way does this work.... Like if this is to work, will it import back channels that i may have deleted in my own menu structure or how does it work? Appreciate the info in advance....

Hi

When you extract the zip file you will get a folder called mast 11-08-2013, go into that folder and copy the Tp_Progs onto the root of the usb and then do the upgrade.

HI Mast... Yes i got that folder... I copied the mast folder on to my USB but i also copied the TP_Progs onto the USB Root also.... So i have 2 copies of it on my usb key now.... but it says file not found

It doesnt matter what other files you got on th root of the usb as long as the Tp_Progs is there too, are you getting a tick when you select the upgrade menu.

Yeah, i got the tick and then hit upgrade, it said burnflash i think and it went to 100% quickly and i hit info and it said no file found

Originally i had done a dump of my current settings on the same USB key and done an upgrade and it seemed to work but i could still only see my menus and my channel order.... So i then removed my dump files from the USB key and only kept yours on the usb key but i kept getting file not found. The file is definately on the root and i even deleted it and extracted from the zip to the usb root a few times....

Hi

Im just on my way out so this will be vague and format your usb to fat32 again and put the TP_Progs on there, I then presume that when you put the usb in it gets recognised then navigate to via menu to misc files and select TP-Progs and do the above.

When I come back and you are not sorted then will try and send you my copy just in case file is corruted like someone said in earlier post but Ive just downloaded from here and it seems fine........ Good Luck

I just want to ask something... Would it make sense to delete all my current channels (i have over 1600 currently), then do a single scan to load all the channels back on fresh and then load masts zip file on to get the menus or what way would you lads suggest?

There's no need to do a scan. The channel frequencies are included in the channel list so there's no need to do a scan first. I usually just delete my current list, then install the new one.

I would leave your favourites & just delete the channels, then install the new list without doing any scans.

Its not something we can discuss openly on the forum and seeing as your stuck with 28.2? east you only have the usual channels SS1/2/3/4, So try Setanta Sport and see what happens
