    Wireless woes 2

Oops jumped the gun a bit with my last post, I get a connection no problem but all channels are still scrambled. My server is selected and shown as online etc but no channels(apart from Fta). Works perfect hard wired just not wirelessly. So my only fix thus far is 20 metres of Ethernet cable and 200 cable clips the F3 is a great box apart from its wireless capability, massive let down.

      Wireless woes 3

Ok more shannaningans, got everything up and running through ethernet. reverted back to the original firmware that the box came with still no problems. thought I`d have another crack at setting up my wireless dongle, Bosh! worked first time. didnt do anything different it just worked!!! so only thing i can suggest is set your box up through ethernet first before attempting wireless connection, Why??, I havent the foggiest but thats how i got it working. Good luck. (Ps be patient when you first switch your box to a scrambled channel, Ive notice a delay of between 5 and 10 seconds before the channel goes from Scrambled to being able to watch) hope this helps someone

Guys I don't post much and by no means am an expert but having had the same problem with a USB dongle with aerial and getting immensely frustrated I tried one last thing.

Found an old NETGEAR router (WGR614) and connected it via ethernet to the current router. Now I had two transmitting. The security was WPA but mode was b&g. Restarted the skybox to clear any rubbish and voila it connected. Got an IP address and everything. The weather app didn't work but it is connected.

Hope it helps chaps. Again sorry if it doesn't but I would have been remiss not to have posted this.

Phoned virgin up and said my modem/router was playing up they sent out a super-hub within 24 hours and it seems to have cured the problem so if your using the virgin Netgear wireless N then it may be worth phoning for a super-hub.

The router needs be set to WPA2-PSK[AES] and then it will work everytime.

Once you change the settings on the box then its needs to be rebooted and normally takes about 30 seconds or so to clear the channels after rebooting.

Shouldnt it work every time if I have no security enabled? Just have the router/modem open?
I cant get it to work, but I have an M3 box if that matters...

Could really capital letters in the password or SSID do any difference?

Been reading back and forth and no one seems to have a super fix for this, or did I miss something?

Hi to all, i am facing the following matter with my F3 and the official wifi dongle. Every time i open the box i have to put my router's code in order to be connected. Is there any way the code to be saved in order not to put it again and again every time i open my F3. Thanks in advance.

                  WiFi Connection SOLUTION

I have had the same problemS as most of you and hopefully found a permenet solution.

Try changing the router security to "WPA2-PSK [AES]" and make the password a mix of lower and upper case letters with number.

                  e.g. Password19

Hope this helps, let me know if it did

                    Hi
I had the wifi working a few days ago after changing to router security to "WPA2-PSK [AES]"and using the password ABCDEFGH. So, all good I though but today when Im trying to connect its the same error message: Timeout, unable to connect.

Just tried the upper/lower case letters with some numbers in the password, but still the same... Very strange how it can work one day, and not the other...

                      okay, even more strange info.
Now my M3 box is working, using "WPA2-PSK [AES]" with pw: ABCDEFGH.
I use the exact same settings on the F3 box and it just wont connect....!? The F3 box has the same software as the M3...

And now I got it working on all boxes.
Only thing that I did was to click left/right in the menu where you can se the wifi networks. It asked me if I wanted to turn of my wifi, I did, the box rebooted and I turned on the wifi again and it just connected after typing the password

Hello. I experience same troubles with losing connection to AP. I have implemented your solution and changed my full lowercase WPA2 AES password to mix of Upper, lower-case and numbers. Let's see how it will help. I'll report the result

Everyone! Please try to set hardly channel on your AP's instead of AUTO. For example 1 or 5 - hope it helps. I made one test. I connected the reciever to AP and on fly changed the channel number - receiver network connection has lost. I tried to set hardly channel on AP's instead of AUTO. Waiting for result.
