    skybox f3 wifi connection problem

    hi, i am having problems connecting to my skybox f3 by usb wifi. sometimes it connects sometimes it doesnt. the signal is 78%. after i enter my password it says timeout,unable to connect!!. the encrypt mode is wpa2psk_aes. any ideas? thanks

    Hi I got my skybox f3 today...having the same problem...but mine does not connect at all..were u able to figure something out for it..??

      you need to change the encryption method to only wpa2 only from the router settings.

      cannot be a combination of more than one encryption method. for eg wpa/wpa2 will not work, it has to be one or the other.

        are you using an official skybox f3 dongle. i bought a cheap unofficial usb dongle of ebay.

              On the Wifi settings screen on the box..it shows only wpa2...and I called O2 cust care and they said that the router can work only on one and cant function on both i.e. wep/wpa2..and mine is wpa2..???

              The box works fine on ethernet cable...but not on the dongle..pls help

                i have removed the password from my wifi so it is unprotected and it still does not connect

                    What router do you have..??

                    I got O2 wireless box IV

                    I created a open wifi hotspot from my mobile...and the box DOES connect to that and the channels come..!! but not with the router...its definately something to do with the router..!!

                        on your router what option did you pick for security mode, authentication and encryption technique?

                          security mode wpa/wpa2-personal (psk)
                          authentication wpa-psk+wpa2-psk
                          encryption technique - AES

                            i also got an o2 router and official skybox dongle.

                            the way i found out that there was a problem with the router was to tether a unprotected network. changed the router to wpa2 and within 2 10 seconds the dongle connected.

                            i would personally suggest people buy the official dongle. its well worth it and can be used with windows pc's. i found the drivers and uploaded on to this site for anyone to download.

                              I did the same to check if the dongle is actually working...created a open wifi hotspot from my mobile and it did work..!!
