I once had Sky change my lnb (different make) because he said that the problem was with the lnb and my pace sky+ box not liking each other. The second feed to my pace box was really crap quality.

Are you confident enough to change lnb yourself? You can get new ones on ebay for cheap enough although I'm sure I read Sky changed the design of the lnb arm connection that the lnb connects to.

As you have tried several f5s then either you have probs with one or more f5s or the lnb and f5 dont like each other.

doubt i will get lnb for it its got to be 9 years plus old i dont mind paying for a new dish if it will cure it but the aerial man was quite adamient that the lnb was working fine on the meter and a new dish would not solve it

Your dish man doesn't understand the issue... He would have hooked up HIS meter and declared the lnb as working.
Try another lnb, or put up a second dish!

if it works with freesat and blade then I doubt its your dish. It can still be your lnb.

I used this site for info on LNBs in the past including the fact that connection arm has changed.

My guess is your minidish is a mk2.

Just replace your lnb yourself... No alignment needed. (or if it is that high, get a daft mate round!)

Fit the whole lot yourself at a lower height... It's not as hard as it looks.

Hi there if you done a loop through and the first box was watching a channel that was horizontal then on the second box you would only be able to watch what channels or broadcast in horizontal and like wise with vertical. So say for instance first box was watching horizontal bbc you could watch all horozontal channels on the other box. But say you then changed a channel on the second box to something that is broadcast in vertical the channel will say no signal being received as the first box has first preference. Hope this is what your on about and helps.

I believe the OP only did a loop-through as a last resort, they did have two different feeds going to each box.

If that's the case it's a strange one indeed.

sb18180, did you by change try your blade and freesat together at same time (ie no F5s)?

yes.put freesat on the bad feed blade on the good and i was getting a picture on the freesat but it kept cutting up like loosing signal. so its gotta be the lnb. cable is all new. but what gets me is the blade will always work on the bad feed maybe they can withstand odd power supply to the lnb better built but dearer.

I would say it's LNB then or dish is slightly misaligned.

On Sky1HD I get signal intensity of 85%, quality 73% however I only have one box on my quad LNB. What do you get with just one box on?

Hi. To eliminate dish problem try the following:
                              1) Switch on box 1 and switch off box 2.
                              2) Check all available channels working ok on box 1. Make sure picture quality is perfect. If quaity is poor then you have problem with dish/LNB alignment or cable connections.
                              3) If quality is ok on box 1 then switch off box 1 and switch on box 2. Check channels on box 2. If you get bad signals then swap cables over at the back of receiver and check results. If cable was working for box 1 then it should work for box 2 as well.
                              4) if box 2 working with swapped cable turn on box 1 and check results. If box 1 has problems then its to do with LNB port. Try using a different port. I suspect if problem persists then as already suggested try a different LNB.

                              Regards.
