NO SIGNAL... nothing works at all. Openbox S10 and Skybox F3

I thought i had cracked it a few days ago when i re-done the coax cable on the sky lead... it was working good for a few days.

Woke up today... turn on the box = NO SIGNAL!!!

Nothing has changed or moved. Just no Signal.

I have re-scanned the satellite list - it finds all the channels, i have added a new channel folder list on. I have even gone and got my parents box (skybox f3) and that is saying NO SIGNAL!

Channels without $ like free to air work ok, some of the HD ones present the same no signal message!

I am at a total loss here and its driving me insane!

Any help would be good right now! thanks

Hi take your box to your old man's
try your box there if it works thats the box confirmed as ok

then all it can be is the cable which i believe you have changed....

this leaves the dish or the lnb
eliminate everything & all that remains is the answer

My parents box is now working here, I THINK the problem is to do with the cable, it seems that the thin bit in the middle has snapped off in the middle of the LNB port at the back, and therefore i cannot insert it in there when i pullback new thread.

If it is lodged in the LNB on the back of my box, is this something that can be removed and purchase a new one? Or will it be a new box?

      Cheers

The S10 has a plug in tuner and can be simply replaced. Only ?6.00 from Yojiatech.

Which box has the bit broke in the port?

Its broke on the OpenBox S10, its the port at the back the LNB Input, where you insert the sky cable the thin copper bit is lodged inside the port.

What do i need to search for to get a replacement? thanks

My own thoughts are with the LNB.

Have you any joints in the cable?

Are the F connectors clean. ie. No outer strands touching the inner.

Nothing obstructing the satelites line of view from the dish.

The cable isnt tangled up or anything behind the tv... not sure if it could be damaged outside of the house though, as it is thrown over the house from the back to the front of the house.

The connectors look ok to me, ill upload some pics tomorrow. looks like this here

Dish is fine, nothing blocking it at all.

In your first post you said that the FTA channels were still working. Is that still the case? Is it only the $ channels that say "no signal"?

If so, then it must be a problem with the box itself.

                          FTA channels are ok.

Sky Sports etc i keep getting no signal.

My parents have had the skybox f3 setup for 3 weeks now with no issue. I tried their box tonight at my house and kept getting no signal. Although it was ok for about 70 minutes, then randomly said no signal... just turned it back on now after an hour on ps3 and it seems ok again.

I really dont get what is going on. But dont think its the box as i did think that but with it doing the same thing on my parents new box i think its something else... what that is i have no idea! Im stumped

What I don't understand is that if it is a dodgy cable from your LNB, or a faulty LNB, then it would affect all channels, whether they are scrambled or FTA.

The fact that your FTA channels are still working means that it cannot be a signal problem.

...but then if it's a decoding problem, why doesn't it show "scrambled" instead of "no signal"? My F3 does.

Have you looked at your gift info to see if it is still showing "online" when you get the "no signal" fault?

That's what i don't understand either, it works perfectly at patents they haven't even seen if jump and we get the line from the same guy.

Could it be an Internet issue? If so i thought it says scrambled.

Not too sure what you mean mate by checking the gift to see if its online, how would I that n ill have a look.

                              Thanks
