Might try someone else for the line, get a test line when theres a big game on to test it.

This really is a strange problem???

If it was a fault with your cables or LNB, or tuner, then it would affect the FTA channels as well.
If it was a fault with your gift, then it should have no effect on sig strength & quality.
If there was some kind of decoding fault in the box, then it would show up at your parents house as well.
