Hi Yeah please dont take any risks on a ladder ..if it makes it easier for you use a long pole/stick/broom to touch the dish. To be honest i dont think its your LNB if its been working ok up till now. When you did the blind scan how many TP's/channels did it find as this may indicate how far out the dish is.
I would love to come to Scotland to sort it out for you but i live in London ...

    Regards

Hi A blind scan on a HD receiver should find around 800 channels on 28.2 east if dish is aligned correctly. If your scan found only some channels then i am pretty sure its to do with alignment. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

        Regardsl

The dish is aligned to 28.2. The dish is solidly in position and so can't see it being that. My normal sky box has no issues with signal quality either. I'm going to have to try a new plan of action to rid myself of the problem

And there lies the problem if your using an official receiver with the F5s then you need the 'No Signal Fix' available from the E of bay, That is unless you take the official receiver out of the equation

Thought I had some joy today. Changed the lnb cable so that it fitted more snugly in my f5, seemed to do the trick ,the signal strength and quality improved to more normal numbers. Now it's gone back to the original no signal signs and any pictures I do get are horribly interrupted. Would the eBay no signal fix do the trick? My box is flashing a green light on front also.

Hi ..Dont know if this 'No signal fix' from ebay may or may not work but try this first as we assume that dish/LNB are ok:

                1) Select channel where picture breaks up and then fiddle with LNB cable at back of receiver. See if it makes any difference

2') Select a channel where picture is breaking up and then smack top of receiver with palm of your hand and see if picture comes back. I have seen this method work on a couple of receivers in the past.

If picture is getting worse you could be having a problem with LNB tuner/power supply dropping.

                Regards

Neither of your suggestions were successful mate. Can't think of any other course of action than a new box. Will my current line be transferrable?

Hi What a shame as i thought you had it fixed when you fiddled with the LNB cable earlier on. Changing the LNB will not help as you said it was working ok on a different box. I am not familiar with this no signal fix from ebay and it may or may not help you as from what i read its a fix to resolve loss of power from the LNB. As for tranfer of things you may need to talk to your supplier for details.
                    Regards

Hi. Dont think its the LNB settings as it works with a different box and also it scans channels in. If LNB settings were incorrect its very unlikely you will get a signal.

                        Regards

Supplier of my box turned out to be unreliable.had the box two years now, was put in touch with a better provider of my line. Don't suppose you could point me in the direction of a reliable replacement dealer nutsandbolts?
