So why didnt i see any update at 8pm, thats why i asked if it does it in the background. Is there a way to check if it updated?

You get a download display on screen when it downloads but it ooks like it hasn't updated last night either.

So any ideas how to fix it?

Go into the crossepg settings again and select 'download now' this will show that it's still working and whether you get an on-screen display whilst it downloads

That does work, that's what i did yestetday as my epg was empty. I only got the box on sat all epg data was fine then sunday i.only had data for freeview channels. So i did a download and got all data. But not getting no updates well not tonight

Right try this, change the following crossepg config settings;
enable csv import no
force EPG reload on boot no

then crossepg opentv providers settings;
sky uk opentv 28.2 is ticked

then menu-setup-epg-settings;
save epg data yes
automatic save yes
save every 7
enable freesat no
enable via sat no
enable netmed no
enable virgin no

reboot box and see if it downloads at the time you've set, you could try changing the time as a test

Ok i will try this in morning as im in bed now. But i do know that my cross epg is ticked with rytec uk

All the instructions I've seen for crossepg on 28e say to use opentv, rytec might work try it, that's the beauty of an enigma2 machine lots of ways to solve a problem. But I would only tick one of them either opentv or rytec.

Morning, just changed those setting set time to 8.00am rebooted and boom got a promt box to accept and then the download box. Sorted then. So do i need to do anthing after its downloaded? Will in refresh itself

I don't have zgemma so may be waffling here but I use vix does pressing blue button on remote show please choose an extension?
Then you can download epg at the press of a button. ie crossepg downloader.
Leave all settings same apart from scheduled download just switch that off if you can download via blue button.
Should suit better if turning box off every night. hth

Yes i have cross epg download on extensions i think that's how it mist of been set up. But ive changed the setting now and its working to uodate its self at 8pm which most dayd the box will be on thanks tho

The reason i want it to auto update is coz if i forget to manually do it one week my series link revording wont record as there will be no epg. Am i correct?
