Hi, i downloaded the firmware for the s9 today, got it all up and running but i can't get onto the option to do a scan for more channels, the option isnt lit up as it use to be. Any idea what this could be.

Sorted it now, after reading about i found someone else had the same problem. Had to go into settings and select the satellites i wanted to scan then all the options lit up.

here's the one im using now i downloaded it on 4/7 and its working fine.

This is the same list but i removed the foreign & advertising channels, added a few more in music favs, and organised other favs into some sort of order. (you might want to rename the fav channels but you can do that on the box once installed)

would people recommend the s9 over the dreambox 500s. i read some issues with the channel rebooting and no bouquet. is it easy to set up with cccam and sly card uk

Is that a serious question?
If you have a HDTV s9. Simple to setup. Add Cline via remote or USB.it's idiot proof. Well except folk dumping new firmware on their clones.
Word of advice there is no need to update the firmware ever

Pretty much yes. If u have uk only or European channels download the required one. Can also edit yourself

I've not done an update for a while so here it is.
This is a complete up to date list for 28.2 (as of 03/08/11). All channels have been sorted, organized, and named and all are confirmed working. All you need to do is set your regional BBC/ITV channels. I have spent a good day on this so hope people find it useful.

2. Movies
3. Sport
4. Music
5. Discovery
6. Kids
7. Lifestyle
8. News
9. PPV
10. Shopping
11. Adult
12. Misc

All working nicely with the latest firmware (31/7/11) that I've included. Make sure if you are using older or different firmware that it supports more than 8 favorites.

** remember if your updating your firmware, standard practice is to backup/dump your original, then factory reset, then upgrade.

Is the firmware you described as skybox s9 OK for the openbox. I have confirmed mine is not a clone.
