Dreambox streaming to internet,it was never easy like this

iv got this program working on dm800, when away from home i get buffering then it plays for 5-10 secs then buffering again it continues like this.

but when at home if i click the stream internet adress at link it buffers once then plays ok.

any ideas?

as you know quality of streaming depend in uploading internet speed and the codec chosen for stream
sure within home you will see continuous streaming when playing internet address and as far from home you will get more worse streaming

Hi guys having a few problems trying to stream over the internet i have the dream box player and it streams locally but cant get it to stream over the net, when i press restream it shows me my dydns url to put in media player but it wont work, also nothing happens if i preview stream internet address although again if i preview the local address, the preview works, where do you think my issue is??

if lower preview button works then the port 1234 opened and forwarded to ip computer
if the upper preview button failed to show stream then there is something wrong with dns address either it is wrong or inactive
you can ping it from dos and see the response

it seems to ping. aswell as the server ips the average ping time comes back is 3ms

Internet streaming address could not work with media player, you can play it with vlc especially if starts with http
however you can choose different settings for streaming and try
to be sure about dns address forward port 80 to ip dream and put dns address in internet explorer if webinterface appear then you dns is ok else there is something wrong with dns
if possible you can pm me your dns address and will try from my side to see whats wrong

my dns opens ok when i type it online, it will open interface. I noticed, this may seem silly but when i use port checker to see if port 80 is open it comes back sayin port is not open or not reachable- should that one say open aswell?

ok dns address is working and active if interface appears online
we do not care about port 80 and you should check port 1234 and if it is forwarded to pc ip (by port checker)
remember that port 1234 is blocked in some countries so you choose another port

however i advice you to use

latest program version 6.1
use vlc up to 1.0.5 and best is .99 below this version is not advised
choose settings like picture initially

I more or less have everything sorted to try this,,but..I can't find the IP for My Dreambox. My Dreambox is set up for c/s,so I don't have access to the menu of the box. Is there any other way for Me to find the IP of the Dreambox using the computer?

use the program above and from settings click the question mark beside the ip dreambox ipscanner will popup and click scan, all network devices ip appears choose the one you think it shoulde be dreambox ip

I now have a different problem.

After I done what you pointed out above,I entered an IP number. But now the whole programe (Dreambox streamer) won't run at all. It just sits on the desktop,with the cursor spinning around,and "Programe Not responding" up the top of the page. I have tried to un-install it a few times,,and re-install,shutting down in between,but when I start it up again,,I get the same thing. It worked fine this morning,,exept for not having the dreambox IP.

Any ideas?

without unistall anything install latest version 6.1.0
reboot your pc
if your system is windows 7 from properties choose xp comptaibility and run as adminstrater
