    Yes... you can do it via dreamup, or via a telnet script.

      Thanks MetalKettle

      But, I think DreamUp is for flashing an image. I need to back it up !

      Thanks

          After you connect you will see a backup button on she right panel half way up on dreamup.

            Thanks guys. I have tried with Telnet, but had many problems.

            When I type in telnet:
            cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

            I get the error:

            -sh: eraseall: not found

            I will probably give up and use the DreamUp method instead !

            Thanks

                Newbirth you just need to do the following..

                Go to the RUN command in windows..

                type telnet 192.168.x.x (replace the x with the rest of your ip address)

                log in with user / pass

                type..

                cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/backup.img

                then use your FTP prog to copy the backup.img to your pc hard drive..

                the code you were using.

                cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot
                is to flash an image not the code to back up

                  No Guys. I did everything using the code

                  cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot
                  In telnet I get:
                  -sh: eraseall: not found

                  My dreambox is the DB 800 HD. I think this is not working for DM 800 because it does not use .img images

                  Any ideas?

                    what you trying to do is for enigma1 images, dm800 is enigma2
                    these telnet and dreamup will not backup enigma2 images
                    if using barryallen theres an option to backup image of everything in image
                    or save your settings via software manager to hdd or usb
                    then every time you reflash it will pick up your settings channels/bouquets/timers/ip setting/not the cams or plugins

                          I tried it Curious123.

                          It does not work in DB800.

                          Thanks Anyway.

                          I lost my null modem serial cable, But I think it is possible to back the DB 800 HD up, using DreamUp.

                          Thanks.

                          M.

                              Hi
                              Dream up will not back up dm800 image
                              the only way by using barry allen either from dream or through dcc
                              You may succeed in taking backup by dream up or by internet explorer in setup mode but no garrante you can restore successfully
