Have you added the channel manually on the dm500 at your house? if its one channel id be suprised if it were dish related, other than that delete the channel content from the box and start over fresh see if it makes an difference,

It is all of the vertical channels that are not working on my dm500 and there's nothing wrong with dm500 because works at my friends house. However, my lnb and satellite dish seem fine because they work fine with my sky box. What is the problem????? Anyone??

first this thread is only for updates to the SGTFlipFlop bouquets so in future make your own thread instead of hijacking this one.

as for your problem, if it's only affecting one polarity it is likely the lnb is on it's way out or your dm500 is not providing the necessary current to switch the polarity.

Ruberduck is correct try and get a loan of another power supply and try that, There has been a few people on here with the same problem and was down to not enough power

In my opinion, the dish and lnb seems fine because my skybox is finding all channels and they are all working so how could this point to the lnb.

As to the reply to SGTFlipflop, Yes I did change power supply but it is also 12v same as the original dreambox one. And anyway my dm500 was working at my friends house with the same power supply and it worked fine. Before this problem occured, I was using the same power supply.

There seems to be nothing wrong with the lnb nor the power supply nor with the dm500 as it works at my friends house. Any suggestions.

I have had EXCATLY the same problem. The dish/lnb works with a technomate reciever, but not with the DM500, the DM500 works fine on another dish/LNB. I tried a different DM500, a dffierent power supply etc etc.. it was just mismash between the LNB + DM500. You can fiddle around with the LNB voltages to get it to switch but I could either get V or H and never both.

Solution - NEW LNB required, even though the old one isnt broke, you need a different one.

My dm500 was working previously on the same dish perfectly. It was only until 2 weeks later when this happened. During this period, there has been no fiddling around with dish.

Do I need to get a new lnb and how much will it roughly cost or do I need to pull off the dish and buy a new dish, or I was advised by a friend that the dish required re-aligning??

If its a standard sky mini dish, ebay for a new LNB and only 5 - 10 quid. If not try and get one that matches ur current lnb. They are not that expensive normally.

The fact it was working with the LNB and now it isnt would make me think it's possibly something else, in my case it never worked the LNB in question.

I've seen something blow in the DM500 and cause you to only get V or H. But if you have tested the box elsewhere then this isnt the problem.

I'm new to sat receivers and don't quite understand. If my dish and lnb is working with a sky box, that means everything is fine with the lnb. Right??

If my dm500 works at my friends house that means there is nothing wrong with dm500 and its tuner. Right??

I don't understand. My friend advised me to re-align the dish or do I still have to buy a new lnb even though it works perfectly on my sky box

Please help. I'm new to these kind of things.

the most likely cause as i said is the lnb. there is nothing a misaligned dish would not cause these kinds of problems.

you can get a new lnb very cheaply for around ?15 to ?20

If the lnb is working with my sky box how could it be faulty??? I can receive all vertical and horizontal channels on my sky box.

ftorres i had the same problem and replaced the lnb and it worked perfect as u said on my sky box i had horizontal and vertical but on my dm500s only had horizontal
