You need to go into the menu of the Dm 800 and set up the network there mate.
Your Dreambox will have its own ip and the gateway will be the routers ip address.
All this needs to be done before you can download ccams, add bouquets and other unmentoinables which we cant talk about on this forum.
I suggest you look at the red stickys at the top of the Sat Dreambox section and do some reading.
        Andy.
Flash a decent image on it like Dreamelite Blackhole.
If you aint a clue and your box has Gemini it will be harder at the beginning to get it up and running as the Gemini server isnt working now.

If you want a static ip then leave Dhcp disabled and make your own ip address up but if you want it to assign its own ip address leave Dhcp enabled and it will automatically give it an ip address.
The only problem with this is if you have several wireless things in your house like ipods, xbox live that might clash with it so i select static for mine.
Dont forget you will need to add in network on the Dreambox the subnet and gateway.
Netmask is normally 255.255.255.0 and the gateway is the routers ip address.
You can access all from a laptop to see if it is working ok.
Try Flashfxp its in downloads,im guessing your trying to ftp a sea lion over?
            Try this below

With Flashfxp press F4 New site put Dm 800hd in and put in the Dreambox ip in.
                    In Username put root
                    Port 21
                    In password put dreambox.
Hit connect,if you have set up network correctly it will connect.
Have you tried Network test in Dm800hd?If the network aint right you wont connect full stop.

Been trying to tell you this from the beginning

You need to start the Dreambox, press menu, system, network.

                          Now set up your network.

Do you know your ip address for router??

Post that back and i will tell you what to do.

                          Andy.

At a stab your ip for router will be either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

Also google your router make and defualt password.
