In November I have bought from it DM800.
The receiver has worked 2 days. The picture scart was gone.
I have written to it about a problem. He has answered - send - we will change.
On November, 30th the parcel has come to China.
Today on January, 6th. Tony letters does not answer.
Now I do not have money and there is no receiver.....

I got 2xdm800 and neither have any fan in it and they are not hot etc... I think only the first batch of dm800 needed fans due to overheating. Not from this tony guy though.

This thread has been very interesting although a lot to read through.

i have been thinking about buying a DM 800, but was not sure whether to buy a clone due to the fact that they are cheaper or save up and get the real one.

Think I'll go for the clone and see what happens from there as only want something to get Sky HD channels but don't wish to pay their prices.

Thanks again to all for all the really useful advice re where to buy and setting things up. let you know how I get on once I have the box.

I think buying a clone is very risky thing. I bought one from yaoxin and of course after a few days the box stopped working. Also i got some old version + tuner wasnt fixed.
I sent the box back and now iam waiting for replacement.
And this takes some time. I sent to China 21Dec and it still hasnt arrived.

LINUXSAT actually have the cheek to charge 99p per download for DM800 clone safe images, which are readily available for free everywhere, some of these clone sellers are starting to get greedy.
I bought my second DM800 from Linuxsat took over 2weeks to arrive and is actually an older version than the one I bought back in Oct 09.

Dreambox 800c is where I get all my units they are forum sponsers. They make them in china just be sure to use EMS couriers to avoid import taxs. Also use my image on it which also gives you full 14days epg on dm800c.
