What do you mean when you say booster ?

If you mean an inline amplifier they dont increase the signal quality. They are only used on long runs of cable.

I would have thought that a booster like this eBay item:270434683558 would improve the signal levels. Also, on long runs of cable, I presume you mean ethernet after 100m?-They use repeaters which are essentially signal boosters but not CATV Amplifiers, besides we're not using ethernet here, so sorry for going off on a tangent

The proof is in the Title nowhere does it state Satellite. I was talking about co-ax cable. If you have a long run of cable lets say 50 metres the loss on the cable is alot so half way down the line you place an inline amplifier to compensate for the loss

If you want a better signal use better cable, low noise lnb and a bigger dish.

Or tweak your own dish

I always use Nabilo images on my 800 as these seem to be the most stable for me !

I am going to try that 1 tomorrow, although have to say Ive just watched the Arsenal game on S*y Sports HD3 no problems, but Nat GeoHD and Disney Cinemagic HD break up badly.

Okay to update, I have flashed box with Nabilosat image and seem to solve the weak signal problem I was getting before on S*Y UK channels, but next problem is I cant get dish to move with this image, was working fine in Pli and also on Openmedia Box running Pli.

I also tried flashing latest images from Pli and Nabilo and then flashing bootloader 72 back to box, but when image starts it says Hardware cannot be verified contact Dream multimedia, (LOL yes of course I will,,, NOT)

Back to patched images to try again!!!

That was what I tried earlier this morning, it solved the weak tuner problem but then created the problem of dish not moving....

I am going to try and see if i can get Barry Allen to work so I can more easily change between images till I find one that I can setup to my liking......

I give up I cant seem to install Barry Allen for Multiboot!!!

Will just stick to Gemini image for now seems most stable as long as I dont update it !

That sounds like a power problem then ! if you cant get the dish moving because im using the latest Nabilosat (and most of the older ones in the past) and have never had any problems moving my 1.1mtr HH dish and motor ? (my 800 is an original though).

Try mesuring the voltage coming from the tuner when moving sats then check the specs for an original 800 online and compare the results.

I think I read somewhere that if you change your box you need to reset your motor. Try sending it to 1W with your old box and then do reset on the motor with the paper clip and then connect your dm800.

You should be able to re'set the motor via the sat box ! don't know about paper clips ? never had to re'set mine when changing boxes though, good idea to start @ 1w though and use Usals.

Thanks for the ideas, however I finally managed to get a Nabilo Pure Flash with Barry Allen installed and can now multiboot the latest images without bootloader problem, & so far Nabilo Blackhole image is moving the dish fine with USALS

Its taking a while but Im finally getting somewhere!!!
