telnet the box and issue this command
      to see your default setting

      cat /proc/stb/frontend/0/tone_amplitude

it might be anything ftom 00000001 to 000000012
if your having glitching or tuner failed problems
change it to a different one
      if its ok save it
mine is set at default 00000007

            any luck with this mates?

i have a strange behaviour with my tuner (rev j tuner) also,
some hd channels play well, but some others after a few seconds
freeze and "tuner failed" pops up!

would the latest tuner (rev m i suppose) fix the problem?
            any one who tried it?

I would try a updated bouquet list first and then check your server before changing the tuner, i have the old obe and new and both run fine
