It's beside the three regulators, (which if the cap change doesn't work will be the culprits, but that's a whole different problem in itself), sorry but I cannot get down to the level required in the pic to be 100% sure which exact cap it is.

But I gave the name C807, so any tech can pick it out once they have the board in front of them.

Yes a capacitor will have a positive and negative side, just make sure you follow the alignment correctly which is indicated by a line on the side of the cap.

Here is a full picture tutorial, (thanks to al3z77), on where the cap is and how to replace it:

Follow the link to the first pic and then scroll through the next 13 images, on the right hand side click next..

Will be doing this at the weekend, Can it be soldered inside the casing or does the board need to be removed completely?

Better to desolder out of the case with a solder sucker from under the board. However, you can do the job without lifting the board off the back plate if you use a thin solder tip but take care not to damage the solder tracks. Use a small long nose pliers to lift the cap if you are not using a solder sucker.

Happened to my original Vu Duo m8, power supply went, red light of death, new power supply, sorted.
And still wouldn't have a clone, even if you paid for it.... :-)

Are you meaning the cable to the back of the box m8 ?, the power supply is inside the box totally different, that is what will have went.

Did you try replacing the cap and do you know anyone with original duo that you could swap psu inside box to see if that works.
