solo2 clone upstairs bought a week ago from mixeshop, came with BH updated straight away to vix 808 Ferrari editon. This box is also still fine. Turned off and on no probs!! Yet!!

What is different with Ferrari edition. From what I read the problem is not just related to Vix images so I don't think having Ferrari edition would make a difference.

stay that way mate, i think upto offical vix 3.0 build 808 is fine, after seems vu drivers had a timebomb, so dont update to a newer image with new drivers

Ferrari patch images so they use old drivers but on a newer images, yes vu drivers are on all images, the image makers have no control over drivers, they are released by vu not image makers.

Do the VU drivers update themselves then is that why everyone is having this problem or, as RubberDuck mentioned, it may have been programmed into the driver a while ago and programmed for today?

UPDATE: Ignore that question as just read that VU drivers don't update themselves so this must have presumably been programmed into the drivers by VU.

The Drivers dont update automatically but you can download image updates that contain the latest drivers, But as you said this is more likely a Time Bomb pre-written a while ago to lull the Clone makers into a false sense of security and then BAM!

as already mentioned thats because ferrari use old drivers with their images, the issue here seems to be those who updated their drivers and those who have used newer images containing the affected drivers unknowingly, those who stuck to drivers pre 2014 seem to have escaped this incident intact.

doesn't look good then for the solo either, i have a vu solo working fine with official vix 3.0 build 808, and model that takes latest official images, so if i tried one of the latest images will it just wont come on ? as last time you could just reflash older image and be fine,

no i have the normal vu solo not solo 2 . its a clone, not Ferrari model , but it would take latest official images, but i stuck with vix 3.0 build 808 so fine, just wondering if the solo get effected the same as the solo 2

no driver update for 2 and half months
then 6 come along all at once
i knew soon as that v1 fix came out what was going to happen
thats why i did not update the drivers on my box
and why would i need to update when everything was working as it should

most of you updated
for the sake of a date
got to have the latest
in one driver update its says fix audio on solo2
nothing wrong with the audio in the first ***** place
