what about VAT duty etc charges, and customs are funny about the minis?

i got charged ?15 vat and import tax by fedex and yojia put the price as $35 which should have been ok for no vat still a fantastic price for a very good and fast box when you look at the price of the original solo2

and if people flash wrong images on clones look how many went down months ago because of driver issue? for that little bit extra peace of mind i think its worth it.

What was your total price in the end?
i got one on ebay total price 130 but saw for 115 following week none since, i want another it's so good.

i paid ?110 delivered including vat and import tax also how did you get one so cheap on ebay i have just checked the cheapest one is ?269

Will BBS tool recover bricked (wiped NAND) box ?
I saw they sell this BBS board on aliexpress for ~ ?8

Edit: Ok ... found this jtag method might work but it need some driver "bcm97346" which I cant find

Hi xdark if you need to ask questions about your box please start your own thread. Make sure you let everyone know what image you had previously how you managed to brick it as it will be easier to help you. hth

I dont have "box".
I just read 10 pages of this thread and it was all about bricked box & how to sort it out .
So I think this is not really off topic .
My plan is to buy one VU+ solo2 "clone" version but I want to make sure I dont get same results as others = wiped NAND if so -how easily (not soldering new chip into board) -solve it

Then use the images mentioned within this thread. The box won't get wiped.that was. Also make sure all auto updates are turned off.

Before flashing image. Don't plug and Ethernet or satalite feed into the box

just got a vu solo 2 with a preinstalled blackhole image 2.1.0.1 should i be concerned?
had the box on a couple of days will this timebomb brick it a few weeks/months down the line,
if so can i just install an older image or is the damage already done

My personal preference is to run oldest images i can find. If you read the threads, you will find image builds that are safe, without doing this myself i cant tell you dates for certain
