Play with that, cry later. GALS are quite sensitive and must keep specific voltage for different types. 12V not work for all, also direct connection of IC in LPT is a `dream`
Don`t recommended that , build "GalBlast" complete version, or buy an cheap universal programmer. Chinese people lunch on the market in last mounts lots of them on affordable price.

To Carlos_: do you have any antivirus software installed? Microsoft security essentials for example? If yes, disable real time checking...

    Hi,

i have norton internet security, and when i first downloaded the vcds 10.6.2, it identified as a virus (or trojan, or whatever...) so i downloaded again with real time checking disabled but even so, the vcds is still not workin, i believe that norton blacklisted the file and/or the url... i'll try to download it from another computer, because i tried to unblacklist it but i couldn't find out how to do it.

    Thanks for suggestion

true - about sensitivity but from experience I can tell if you have a quite stable supply voltage source no problem to program GALs.

    currently I'm using something like this: one:Agilent DC-voltage supply E3646A. 0-8V, 3A /0-20V, 1,5A. YoC: For Sale

    all the best!

Hi all, need a little help please, been trying to reprogram my cable and think i may have blown something, the led does not work and shows as not connected to car, there is power at the solderd connection on the triac (if thats the correct term) and also at the diode, is there a fuse just before the diode that i may have blown or anywhere else i can check. Thanks for any help Mick.

Can you program the FTDI chip, have you tried the work arounds for when that chip gets nuked ? Also were you programming the atmega 162 eeprom,an incorrect eeprom for the version of VCDS you are running an it will nuke the 162 eeprom an also nuke
    the FTDI chip.

Hi already programmed the chip once and it worked but still not activated, would only run part scan. Tried re programming again but may have shorted something, had a couple of loose wires, just wondered where to check thanks mick
