I cancelled the first key I've made, I went back to the car and program a new one in position 10.tried to start the but no luck.only the remote was working. press add key, added successfully but still no start. Done maybe 13-15 times cas-dme sync. Still nothing..

I plugged in cgdi BMW and tried twice to sync cas-dme,unsuccessful.
I've added the key programmed by vvdi2 and car started...

Any thoughts?
Why car started with cgdi after added key? Why didn't started with vvdi2?

I was told at some point on BMWs to avoid slot 10 when making new key and best to use 7-9, since following this and only using only original/renewed pcb where possible I have very few issues.

I have a 2015 3 series that needed a spare key today.
Done quite a few before with no problems.
The downgrade went well, no problems.
Key learning done on bench.

VVDI did not want to program in the new key, it gave me a frequency warning.
When I tried to do it again with another key, I got an error saying the "Synchronize code between key and FEM was lost" and it would not let me try and program keys again.
Proximity function will not work, car cranks but does not start if original key held up to column.
Still only the 2 original keys listed with the FEM.

I have had similar problems using other tools but they would write the failed key into the FEM and not break the Syncho code.

Is there any way this can be fixed without buying a new FEM?

The car had the latest update done by BMW yesterday, so it can't be updated again (the car is actually at a BMW dealer).
I did not try and write the original eeprom back again, might be worth a shot though.

First time hear about such error. Maybe something wrong with your bench set or solder eeprom or write data to it.

Nope, done plenty of them.
The downgrade went well, the problem occurred when it failed to lock the new key.

I had few when key not accepted or waited 10 mins and nothing happened. But newer had this error.
It can even program not fem key diferent frequency. Your problem not standart. Have you send log to support?

Ok, VVDI saves the ISN's when it reads the key for the first time in a file.
I should be able to use that to program in another key instead of using the working key I believe.

EDIT - Yes this works on test FEM. Use ECU ISN to bypass the need for a working key.

Nobody from Xhorse is going to comment on this?

I'm not sure what you were trying to say but it really makes no sense. If you used a translator then its more than 40% not working.

After upgrade to win 10 vvdi prog and mb works fine i only have problem with vvdi2
Even vvdi2 works but it comes up with a error then connects and works
Please see the picture its not from my laptop but i get the same error
I found a solution on google to fix this
I downloaded the vvdi2 database file v1.00 and run the program it worked fine for 1 hour then same again.
Soes anyone have a solution for this.

Had a 2015 Audi RS4 today for a spare key. Read BCM2 by obd and showed success for bypass security level 1 and 2 but then gave an error message saying about the size of the file. No problem can’t do it told the customer it might not be possible before hand.
After trying to read the BCM I got traction control and steering angle sensor faults. Had similar before and a quick drive and turning steering wheel full lock in both directions has had everything back to normal. But not this time still got steering fault and traction control faults. Checking the faults shows the steering isn’t calibrated. Found the function in AVDI to setup the steering but just gives conditions not correct error. In the live data it shows the steering angle and shows it accurately.
Anyone had a similar problem?

I wouldnt trust AVDI to do something like steering initialisation correctly. I'd use VCDS, becuse its more a normal function, and AVDI dont do the normal functions well.

Not had anything similar. Done quite a few A4/A5. Just unlucky ? Hope you get it sorted.

Had a 2014 rs4 done steering angle sensor with vcds . And still had fault. Drove it for about 10 miles turning steering full lock were posible and in carparks etc. And still had fault, decided to

1 key renew choose the right eep 433 mhz F series and key is ori key and is US key
2 backup coding -> FEM open -> make service eep -> write service eep ->reassemble and connect to car -> connect charger to car->flash update->open FEM write ori eep and connect to car, restore coding-> read key inf -> select next free key (No 3 my situation) prepare key with ignition(put the remote to the key sign on the steering column) push prepare key-> 2 options
- 1 enter ISN
- 2 put working key o the key sign on the steering column
=> software feedback massage -> key make successfully

if read key info is pressed the key ID is displayed at No 3 but no remote function and key do not start engine.....

Please point out the mistake

Today I tried reflash ccm module from b6. Stopped in half way with error And car is dead:) I updated few clusters before and never had problems. I guess tool doesnt work good with ccm:)

You have to use external PSU when you perform this kind of operation. At least 75-100A (memflash, gysflash..etc)
Unfortunately this warning is missing (http://www.microtronik.com/images/Autohex-II-CAS-Firmware_67.png) from the vvdi

Take ot the CAS and flash with BDM programmer it will be alive again

Do you have ignition only no start, or no ignition at all?

If you have ignition, disconnect battery for a 10 min, and make a DTC clear and a CAS--DME sync, it must start.

So VVDI2 can now read and write cas2.
With VVDI2 6.0.0 version you have to use the adapter to edit cas.
What works here too. And you can also write this.

CAS 3 + there are still problems but I hope they are also fixed.

Had 3 from this car last month, made without updating, and none of them started until you have faults in the footwell module or wtf it called i dont remember.
Maybe you are a wizzard to help out everybody without see the car or diagnostic, i dont have the ability to do that, just gave a tip what i faced before, sorry :)

Yes, that remote is known to be problematic in VVDI. I reported it more than a year ago.

I have problem with a 2004 early Touareg. I've already made 2008 and 2009 but this isn't working for me.

hitag2 id46 remote key from my retailer (3D0959753AK)

First attempt:
Key learn--> 4th immo system--> touareg,phateon, a8..
- Get CS from Ecu via obd: success (surprize all 7 byte)
- Make dealer key with working key (find the same 7th byte so the cs is working)
- Key learning...not working only the orig key

Second attempt:
Key learn-->Key learn
- VW Touareg..etc KWP2000 immo detected
- Autodetect pin/cs same values like before
- Learn..Failed again

According the description it's "procedure 7" (bcose the man. year) it will working an empty tp w/o CS. The only prequisition is the Cipher mode config 06 to 0E

Third attempt:
- key unlocked with vvdi
- config byte swapped to 06
- key learn, failed

after all attempt the same DTC appears in the KESSY: Wrong transponder type
The working key is 7946 too.


I'm lost :D Any idea? (The owner wants remote key)

Make dealer key -> prepare OEM key -> choose the second working key ID (what was lost). succes (with VVDI ID48 transponder).
I tried start the car. Start but after 1s stopped and got an error message: "no key" I tried start again but nothing happend just "no key". I started the car with the original key, works fine and then I can start with the new key until 1s.
I understand that why not working: because I don't have MQB key it is fine but 4th system with MQB key? and the remote works fine with old 7E0783202AD remote (transporter/Amarok)?
My question: Where can I buy the 7E0837202BD MQB key?
If I get the MQB key then Can I programming it to the car?

Just got this tool. Trying to read CAS2 on the table 100Kbps no 120 ohm across. Result ---> "Connection Failed!"

Trying with BMW Explorer (same setup). Result ---> OK.

Is there something I need to do for VVD2 to connect, like port setings etc.?

I try CAS3++ with VVDI2 and it connects OK at 1st but then looses connection and odes not connect anymore.

You’re not reading answers. Somebody already have written that bcm is locked. As far as I know there isn’t any tool on the market which reads these. Of You try by obd you’ll get „Invalid data length” error

After you read eeprom on dash. Save the file you're going to need it when you put it on service mode it pulls this file and it delivers a hacked file that you need to load on the EEPROM, put the dash back power up vvdi2 , select 24C64. Then on service mode and follow the instructions on screen. do you have the manual or even the screen tell you what the next step is is very clear let me know

First you read EEPROM here comes security login Trying to have axis iif it fails try the sitcom 24C 64 option and then the next one until you have sucess logging in.

the problem you have what is the device is out of the battery inside , so need to talk with the vendor who sold you the vvdi 2 , ask the vendor to help you send back the device to China , you can not just fix that , the device need to be flash after change the battery ,only can do that in China ,

Thanks everyone. It was just me being stupid. Put it in service mode and the wrote back original file and then could read and prepare a dealer chip and code it in with the programmer. Thanks again for your help!

the problem you have what is the device is out of the battery inside , so need to talk with the vendor who sold you the vvdi 2 , ask the vendor to help you send back the device to China , you can not just fix that , the device need to be flash after change the battery ,only can do that in China ,

It's a good security in-chip system called Dallas. The chip is working until it's supply voltage is present. When it's interrupted even in short time the Dallas is erased and after the backup battery exchange you have to reupload the security data to the Dallas again. Obviously for security reasons they will be keeping this data safe. So no chance to online reupload. Thats the reason why do you have to send back to china.

And post partnumber.
Your bcm, is continental?
Get the pin from the eeprom dump, and program by obd.

and with VVDI2-InstallerV550 key programming was ok remote and key-less go function working

and this is for sure because i try 2 times but now i cannot use older version because of firmware !!!!

and regarding e60 if i remember well because the job is more then 5 mounts old with both VVDI sw learning key with ignition was not ok and by programmer with older version of sw than the latest one key become functional

Have next situations: when I try new coppy ID48 from VW Polo. I see next messsge: "The server found...." all mesage pls see on screen.
Ok. I know if I see it, need query result. Start calculations i see Need 5minutes. But after 2 hour not happened. I try 3 or more times 40 min, 2 hour, 3 hour. Steel same result.
Some one know how Reset info on server, to restart collect to begin?

A4 8K central electric - FAIL
Now I have client to remove CP in A4 8K 2009 Climatronic module and dont know if VVDI2 can do it ??

With CAS3 + there are also problems with VVDI. Should actually be fixed with the new update.
But unfortunately still the problems.

With CAS2 you can read everything and rewrite the EEprom.
This is where the whole thing works.

I'm from Germany so sorry for my bad english.
But maybe I will not get it right here.
Every user can test it with Team Viewer on it and BMW CAS3 +. Have a synonymous CAS2 to test and goes with VVDI2 great to read and you can also write.
Have VVDI2 6.0.0
