        You got to try mate...
        I have 10 of the same, but only 2 is working properly.
        Because its all china made, the quality is really bad.
        There are many other brands with similar problems. Its better to bring your laptop along when you buy so that you can test first.
        A wise man learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn more from a wise answer.

            Use computer with serial port would be advisable. Using usb adapter with null cable often create problems rather than helping.
