How to JTAG a DM500

I already flashed, and it's show result successful 100% so after that I try to upgrade new firmware but it's seems can't connect with dreamUp.

any suggestion ?

not working with windows vista

dear friends, my dm500s just went blank 2 days ago, when i powered it up nothing shows on the tv screen, no response from remote,
only the green power LED on dm500s front panel is ON now.
( i was using the older version of gemini, not the virus version)

so i thought a simple dreamup re-flash via serial would solve it, i was wrong!!!
dreamup does not load anything, it just shows waiting for acknowledge..
and hangs there forever.

i even tried hyperterminal and this is all i got.




so i tried omars method by removing the front panel cable and shorted the pins using a pin jumper ...



and after i shorted the pins i was able to get this on hyperterminal




and i managed to successfully flash working image using dreamup,

now here is the problem, after successfully flashing the image
i removed the jumper pin and slotted back the front panel cable into it
and hooked to my tv, but nothing shows on tv.

so what i did, i again removed the front panel cable and slotted the jumper pin
back and hooked dm500 to my tv, and only then it worked and gemini project screen appeared on my tv screen, and i managed to see all my satellite signals were detected (but my ethernet port does not work!!) i have lights on my dm500s ethernet port and also the lights were on my 4 port switch. but the ethernet port does not detect dhcp ip and does not reply to
manual input ip!!

it looks like my dm500s will not boot or show anything on tv screen without me leaving the jumper pin there permanently!

please do i have to jtag it now??

Hello, I wonder if the boot files mentioned here are applicable to a cloned dm500 from China with an on-board tuner.

Can someone elaborate on a methos to re-flash a Gemini 4.4 image on DM500-S after using a dreamup on a cloned DM500-S.

Is it possible to use non-JTAG method with Jumpering , will it work

So far as i can see is it a mainboard from an optibox.
I used for this one the files from an alps tuner an is working good.

First at all i tryed jtag dm 500 for windows, i didn't read the tread as well.
Now i have in my dm 500 a wrong bootloader, the loader from an dm 5600.
Does someone know how i can change them to get my box back at work.
Or is my box now realy damaged.

Hi, Iv'e managed to get the bootloader sorted using jtag, but its still dead. I have unsoldered the jtag cable thinking that was the next step and it would then be just a case of reinstalling a new image but I have no LED's, nothing. Any idea's what I might have done wrong?

when box does on and i connect whit jtag for windows.....the box dies....and i can connect to the box.
