I plugged in the flash drive with the unzipped file FY.AP but no luck. The lite on the flash drive flicker. My TV shows there are output on the HDMI connection (by a darker image) but no picture. The boot wordings with 2 green lites still there. Still no Channel Selection. Any masters out there can advice me what to change/do. Please don't ask me to change to another box. I retired liao and cannot afford to get a new box. TIA.

china box are very problematic
everytime i buy a box from them, i feel like I am buying a second hand or faulty box to repair myself
Must change here and there... solder etc

Try update yr box with RCA video bcos the HDMI 19pin connections by FY is real F**K up.

I have one of the boxes to try.. But after the loading LED on the box, it shows ASH. Then nothing happens.. Any idea why?

U plug in the USB into the front USD input. Switch off from Mains 220v supply. Press 'Menu' dont let go, now on the mains and see LED show activities, let go 'menu' button and wait patiently until box reboot.

The r many version of FYHD800c, MBHD800C, FYDM800C etc,
1) use method I post above
2) juz plug in USB in front slot, on mains, the 'on' the standby with remote and wait till box reboot.
Pls note the file is abt 6M must wait abt 4min for full flash then reboot, dont unplug b4 reboot. However, can always reflash as the nand dont suffer from corrupted failure. ie, u can flash as many times as u like, the flash will not be dead.

I have a fyhd 800c vii, and suddenly it is not able to boot. Tried putting a thumbdrive in the usb port, does not seem to read the usb. Can't seem to find the 2 chip on my box too. The whole box come with only 1 single pcb, and closest chip is something like PT1203SC or something like that.

Can someone help me replace the power ic?

hmm...spend some time troubleshooting... i observe the following :
1. The box will be startup from cold
2. If you leave it connected, after awhile, it might boot up
3. However, once it boot up, I'm unable to scan any channels.
4. I'm not able to read my usb thumbdrive though the led on my thumbdrive shows there is power.
5. I believe the 2 power IC on my box is PT1203SC.
6. The box seems to run very hot and hang the box.

I suspect is either the 2 power IC problem or the capacitors. I noticed some of the capacitors do not have the solder underneath the pcb. Can these be replaced? Based on what I google, they should be smd style capacitors.

hmm... anyone knows where I can get the power ic and capacitors replaced.

PT12035SC can buy from Dav Jones SimLim Tower Basemt. The smd electrolytic capacitor replaced with lead capacitor will still work, b very careful with d =/- poles or the oil in cap will boil and explode. After replace, the box booted, then reflash with a thunbdrive with only fy.ap file in the drive, no other files unless yr box can access file menu which able to select fy.ap to flash.

hi all, just would like to know, cos i purchased the latest FY800HD-VII set top box.
Unable to add in the new channels like Lifetime, Lifetime HD, H2, H2 HD and also TV4Me.
This channels are all in 156.00Mhz frequency with the symbolrate of 6090 (as given by astrobox).
Anyone able to add these channels in the set top box or have any idea how to resolve this?

Have u try manual scan frequency 157mhz.
