Did you follow the settings as above, but change the IP on your laptop TCP/IP settings to 10.0.0.1 instead of 10.0.0.2. I don't see why your firewall would autoblock the FTP client or port 21/80.

Try the setting's here, but like as said, in the picture, I put the wrong IP address in (I did it quickly in work to show you the correct screen). Change the IP address to 10.0.0.1 and all the other settings as in that post.

I thought you pinged 10.0.0.1 successfully?

Your connecting through an RJ45 cable, aren't you? Your router has nothing to do with it. Although you could try disabling your wireless card on your laptop....

as far as dbox is concerned i'm a newbie but networking wise i'm not, so thought i'd but in with 1 or 2 things here hope u don't mind? (typical woman eh?!)

are u now trying through router or xover?

if using xover can u 'see' the dbox an your lan (i use a xover to server set up in work for demo's of software and protocol's the same)

if connecting through router there's quite a few things i'd try:
              1. check the port on router's not dead (if more than 1 free use a different 1)
2.check you haven't locked down on no of connections allowed through router (i only allow 10 through mone for extra security layer)
              3. have you checked ALL your ipconfig just in case anything wierd ging on? (start run cmd then type "ipconfig/all")
              4. reset router and go from the top setting n/w back up that way it'll force u to check all settings

              dunno if this helps? Claire

Why don't you post a screen shot of your TCP/IP settings and a photo of your DB connection settings. There must be something your missing if you could ping the other day? Maybe people suggesting different IP's has confused the matter...

You dont need to touch ipv 6.

Im confused.... are you connecting via crossover or router?
