TOTAL NOOBS GUIDE TO SETTING UP DM500C

Hi guys, must say the guide is v good and easy to follow, how ever on completion - only FTA chanels are decoding - all other there but just can't see them. In the above post are you saying that the 'Keys' need to be copied to the 'scce' folder as well as the 'nagrae' file??? Thanks in anticipation Anyone.......

Hi have just downloaded ### Nagrarom Auto Update Fix - 29-11-08 ### and compared it to Nag files from download specified in Noobs Guide, I've spotted a very slight difference in the nags and wondered if i replace the orignal nag files in the scce folder with the ones from ### Nagrarom Auto Update Fix - 29-11-08 ### will this sort out the auto update issue? (have manual updated keys at mo....... )

OK first up, the dk forum is THE place for all dreambox related goodies/help.
the stickies/guides are easy to follow and comprehensive.
i know from experience that when you join a new forum, it can be daunting to ask for help not saying that DK is like that, but you know what i mean. anyway i'm rambling. As i stated, the guides are excellent but maybe whats missing is all the info in one file. This isnt a critique BTW

Anyhoo, ive unashamedely plagiarised devilfish and thommos excellent guides and recompiled them with a bit of tweaking.
kudos to you guys and any noobs like i was (still am?) please take a read.

is this the most basic nooby's guide on here?
have a 500c but not a clue (not even of what FTP is!) and was disappointed to discover that it wasn't Plug & Play as i was informed.
Anyway, I'm keen to go through it all myself - but i need a step by step guide in layman's terms...

I all, I'm trying to get the keys and scce files from my pc to Dreambox but when using FlashFXP to do this it wont drag n drop or copy and paste the files...........it just says file transfer failed..........do you need the Null Modem connection to do this this as I'm connected via ethernet to my router........but it doesn't wanna tranfer the files to the dreambox.......cheers, Chris.

Why do i get video not sync with audio after watching a particular channel for some time? After i switch channel, it syncs again..can anybody help?

the guide is good - but slightly incorrect in the fact that it tells you to copy the files to var_init when infact this is a read only location and the actual folders you need to copy to are located in var (not var_init)

thanks for this. When you have to come back to something you done 2 years ago, it is always the noob guides you go to so you remember what you had done (did that make sense?)

Do the permissions on all the files in the KEYS and SCEE need to be reset to 755 as their parent folder is set?

It does.. but it's old scree files and outdated.. other than that go with the guide.
If you need new roms (scree) send me a pm and i'll oblige
