Eurovox 2006 stuck on standby! HELP!

Hi all, im new to the site - just joined today!

After spending the last hour and a half searching the forums, and totally confusing myself, i thought it's time to create this thread. I am well aware there are dozens like it, so i apoligise. Anyway....

As mentioned above, my Eurovox 2006 (blue) is stuck on standby.

I have tried the master reset button, but that didnt work.

So i then located, and marked C14, with the intention of replacing it today. However, am i correct in saying that after replacing C14, i will need to solder the new one in place?

Next up is J-tagging. I believe my box may need J-tagged, if the replacement of C14 doesnt work, and after reading the 'Cables required...' thread, i would like someone to confirm that it is a RS232 null modem 9 pin cable (female to female) i need? There is a male 9pin port on both my Eurovox and my PC. Is this all i will need???

    Fianally, software.

What software will i be uploading on to my Eurovox?

If someone could answer/confirm my queries, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Also, if i cannot fix this myself, is there someone on the forum i can send my box to (and pay) for them to sort it?

    Cheers.

    Jay.

jay check to see if it is a clone first.
Digital Kaos - Downloads - Eurovox...spot the difference
then see if you can flash it with the relevant blue firmware from the red stickies at the top of the page .

I can now confirm it is a genuine Eurovox, not a clone...

So will there be any soldering involved?

Also, can anyone confirm my above queries?

Im heading to M*plins soon to get the C14 and RS232 cable if needed!

Why will i need the modem to USB cable? How can i determine which cable i will need?
