Hi all, I’m new to all this but finally got my box to work by using the Tele West symbol rate (6.952) even though I live in an old NTL (6.887) area. Maybe this info could be of help to someone and if anyone knows how this works, I‘d be interested to hear why?

Where abouts are you ? BTW not all NTL areas are 6887. I hear people say this allot but not always the case.

        Hi HiTeck,
I’m in the M28 area but I’ve since learnt C&W laid the cables and indeed the Symbol Rate does not necessarily relate to only one company. It appears the info provided by my supplier was quite misleading.

Hi HiTeck, I’m wondering if you can help me (again)

I live in Belfast (BT17) and I have a eurovox ex5000 connected to a splitter on the NT!/VN network. Last night I installed it for the first time (i'm a newbie as you can probably already guess). When I done the scan last night I got all the channels but when I tried to view them I was getting a message saying that they were scrambled. I was told by a friend that I need to rescan for the channels again and when I did this I lost everything and I am unable to get them back again. Which frequency should I be scanning and what firmware should I be using on the box? This is starting to wreak havoc on my happiness .. any help at all will be greatly appreciated!!

In HiTeck's absence, you need to scan on symbol rate 6887. I presume its has been flashed with 1.1A?

Hi, CDF's are channel dump files, they organise all your channels for your area. quite hand if you can get your hands on them!

Hi, Im new to this. Ive just purchased the Eurovox EX5000. Just wondering how often you have to update it. Is it a case of seeing if theres a new update every now and again or wait till the box stops receiving the channels.

Also is the lastest update at the moment the one form 12/07/08.

                        Many Thanks

What do I have to do to get this thing up and running !!!

Thank you in advance for your advice....
