Alright mate you have to manually change the codes at the moment, ill post the codes for you here... to insert them:

should bring up the key menus if your on Cable youll need TW just click ok one one of them and scroll down and change them manually when does press blue to save and exit here are the codes.

Hi all,

Newbie to this also - have tried everything I can think of to get this thing working but no joy. Live in the Belfast area and have NTL connection (had D-BoX) so know the connection is there. When I set up the box I get only BBC channels and a few others, everything else is scrambled. Now I looked at previous thread and this one caught my eye has it mentions v1.1 for firmware. Mine is 1.0 so I try to install v1.1 but when it goes to download its coming up with version 1.0 again even though I am using the latest link??? Should this be the case?

Nearing the end of my tether with it as I was trying to get it working for approx 5 hours last night :-( also used the change in frequency which picked up all the channels which was good but the vast majority of them are scrambled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.s - have look at similar threads relating to similar scrambled channels and it seems to not apply to this.

i would recommend the eurovox i havent got your model myself i have the 1000 but i have never had any probs and i know a lot of people with them who dont really have any probs whatsoever

you can buy the 5000 with hardrive installed so this will be ready to roll after you have the firmware on or install your own if you prefer

one thing i will say though is it only has one tuner so recording a channel while watching another is pretty impossible unless you are very lucky its highly unlikely this will work for you

got a ex5000,also a usb/rs232 adapter,connected them up but my computer isnt recognising it,anyone help me. thanks

Brand new to this & sorry to hell i bought this box from the net..would have paid the extra dosh if i knew i had all this firmware updating to do & even then still don't know if it'll work..aaaahhhhhhh

1st, you need to turn your caps lock off. then download this Digital Kaos - Downloads - eurovox pvr ex5000_v1.1_2exe (12/07/08) and this Digital Kaos - Downloads - DnUpMan firmware flash program hook up your box and your away

just borrowed a computer with the right port but it doesnt recognise the box,sorry i am a bit thick when it comes to these things,i know bits but not a lot,do i need drivers for my box? any ideas thanks

you have to put put the file on your computer and open it so as a dun up then click it again to bring the download up, click the download button it will go to start click start go's to ok click com 1 and then push start and then turn you box on and it will start downloading the fem were to your box all the best

Hi m8, are you using just a RS232 cable or a USB adaptor with a RS232 cable?
If you are using a usb adaptor then make sure you have the latest drivers installed.
