Any reason why my USB is not showing in the Mount Manager section?
I initialised it when I first started using it. Tried to mount it today as it wasn't showing, box rebooted but still nothing.
It's working perfectly fine as it is but wasn't sure why it's not showing as being mounted.
Thanks.

You can as long as you remember you have called your usb an hdd and vice versa. I suggested changing the mountpoints so they match the device to avoid confusion but if your happy just changing the recording path go for it.Leave a comment:

Thanks mate. You can plug it in the front but default settings for recording go to media/hdd which openATV will have mounted the stick in the back to. you will need to change the mount points so that the hdd is set to hdd and the usb is set to usb then change the crossepg path to save to media/usb along with your file swap and any picons you are using. By installing epg, picons and file swap to usb it means the hdd will only spin up when recording. Reducing noise and wear on the drive
I thought I could just change the location in the 'Recording' options on OpenATV without touching anything else.
I've not got round to it yet but will in the next few days.Leave a comment:

Got my H1 running sweet now on OpenATV 5.0.
Quick question.
I have a 8 gig USB stick in the back for CrossEPG and few other things and was recently given an external HD with a 500GB hard drive in it.
I want to use the 500GB for recording. Can I leave the USB stick in the back and use the front USB socket for the large drive or should I plug the larger one straight into the back?
Thanks.Leave a comment:

I just wish the beggers wouldn't clone the bs mark on the plugI think everyone has to realise that these receivers are made in the Clone Homeland where Health & Safety is pretty much non existent and these types of receivers do not go through the rigorous CE benchmark testing if they did this problem would have reared its ugly head at the very start and no one would have had a receiver until the correct lead and or Fix etc... was put in place
but to be fair mine were ok. Never even thought to check for power without a fuse when i was doing my usual and changing the fuse for a brand I've used for years without issue. Call me paranoid but i do this with all appliances that arrive with fused plugs whether i buy them from a shop in person or online from wherever they may claim to be manufactured.

I've got a H1 from a certain 'mobile shop' and tested it earlier.
Came with a UK 3 pin plug, took out fuse and box booted up.
I've now swapped it for a UK C7 cable.Leave a comment:

I've had both an h1 and h2 supplied with uk 3 pin plug and have just tested them without a fuse and no power is passing through.Last edited by happy_highlander; 29 May, 2015, 20:18.Leave a comment:

Im sure I only received a two pin figure of 8 anyway but would never use the Chinese version anyway.Problem is, on outer appearance it just looks like a regular uk fused plug. There's going to be a lot of people who won't bother testing it and will just used the one they receive.
My question is why would they even create it like they have, surely it wouldn't create so much trouble to make/use a real fused plug?
Are you 100% that your box is an original?
I wouldn't think they would supply a UK plug with these boxes as a rule,

I would never use there plug end just stick to the figure 8 uk one that is used widely on vcrs and dvd and radio sets.
I never leave my box on overnight and always shut it down because I feel the weakest points on all boxes are the power supplies.

Better to be safe than sorry just swap the Figure 8 lead over for a UK oneLeave a comment:

I just tried the zGemma 2S power supply with the fuse taken out and the green light came on the adapter. Didn't plug the receiver in but that shouldn't be normal behaviour with a fused plug?Leave a comment:
