In response to Nukemall, having spoke to VM they have assured me that there is no movies or sports in the package they have offered you, please can you confirm which bb you get and phone package within the deal.

CGS, will you get any movies or sports within your package? I am trying to assess the packages available since the end is nigh!

and now added multiroom for ?5.50 a month
new V+ box but i had to pay ?49 for that

please understand i have been with tellywest/virgin for over 14 years and was going to switch to sky it was there retensions department that set this deal up for me as i was dissapointed with them for putting a fair use allowance on my 10mb, this is a new thing but no one was told .

at the mo still using the 7000hd in my bedroom till new card shows up next week

i had negotiated a deal for 60quid a month for services. this was installed this week. now i see that by using their build a bundle package on their site i could have saved an extra 17 quid a month and avoided paying the 49 quid for the hd box. what legs have i got to stand on ? or have i commited to the deal.

rang again apparently free hdtv box + fitting is for new customers only.!!!!!!
however they have reimbursed me 25 quid and reduced monthly payments by 10 pound. so overall yearly saving of 145 pound for making a call.dont know why new customers should get all the best deals though, surely loyalty should be rewarded.

With nagra3 quickly sweeping across the Uk do you think it would be a good idea to let other member know what we are paying, or have been quoted for VM packages. This can range from the most basic package to the all singing, all dancing one. We all know VM customer services can slash the prices, so I think it would be helpful to all members, or visitors who are about to be wiped out soon, to see what offers they may be entitled to without having to go through the tediouse phone calls...just a thought...chuck.

Last month I got a Sky offer of a free HD box and EVERY channel (sports / movies etc) for 1/2 price for 12 months. This cost ?24 plus ?10 for all 38 HD chans, total ?34 -- a really good deal in my opinion.

Phoned virgin and they would not even haggle or offer much at all (i've been with cable for over 12 years). The person on the phone just apologized and said she had nothing to compete with that.

To cut a long story short, i decided not to go to Sky in the end and got a free HD+ box (quite like it actually, def the best virgin box so far), XL tv and phone for ?34. I get my bb elsewhere.

I can watch the world cup in HD thru the summer and then decide whether to add the footie package when we get there (may be a bit cheaper after the ofcom decision but am not holding my breath...).

My experience is that virgin cannot compete with Sky on price atm. I think this is a really stupid, narrow-minded policy because with n3 descending on us i'd say that most of us would stay with virgin if we got a sweetener.

Atm Sky are signing up lots of new customers -- just look at their latest sign-up numbers -- and virgin are losing them by the shed load.
