I have just gone on the sky half price deal, all sky channels plus sports channels, all the movie channels, full HD package and HD+ box with free installation, ?25.50 for the first year. Phoned up virgin and spoke to a guy who used to work for sky and said ,"can't get know where near it mate." Opted to keep my virgin 10meg BB and unlimited calls plus I get the M+ package for free for ?18/month, so my virgin box is going in the bedroom. Total cost ?43.50/month which I am quite happy with....chuck

I rang Virgin today to cancel, they said no way they could get near the offer so cancelation is curently in process.


I received an e-mail from Sky today to urgently contact them regarding my order, so I called and they advised the offer code was matched to somebody else so they can'tdo me the half price deal.


Looks like i'll have to call Virgin again tomorrow and ask if I can stay with them.

Was paying ?18.50 for 10Mb BB, phone & M tv package. Called VM this evening and asked how much it would cost to upgrade to 20 Mb BB.....the answer was zero ? (he said there was a promotion on & I didn't argue)...pulling 19Mb download from usenet. Pretty good deal I think.

I stayed with Virgin (after their retensions department outbound called me) and have just had a Virgin + HD box installed today, however the sky sports are in SD (not HD) now customer service want me to pay ?7.00 p/m extra for the sports in HD arrrrggggg looks like the guy from Virgin retensions department has mis-sold an offer to me as he offered me free install and conection plus extra large tv pack with full sky sports in HD (not bloody SD), including 10meg B/band and basic phone package for a final total of ?58.99 p/m)

I've just come off the phone from Virgin to lodge a complaint (as i'm refusing to pay more than the ?58.99 p/m offered) and advised them to listen to the call --- hopefully will find out more next week.

Virmin have won the battle......this is just what they wanted, everyone ringing them to upgrade/pay more.......everyone should ~~~~ them off... and switch to sky.....grab a 500s or another box and grab a c/s......if you like the bb via virmin keep it and have sky basic package t.v......or grab a sat dish and set it up yourself.....

All sorted now the deal was correct all along, it was just their customer service advisor couldn't read my offer and package correctly.

So can't complain really on the 12 month offer - ?58.99 p/m. For the same package on sky it would have cost me ?74.00 p/m

did you threaten to leave for this deal or are you a new customer? interested to know as i have the same package and pay 51 , but contract finishes next month.
