you can change the com port in device manager-com ports-properties-port settings-advanced there you will see port number with drop down box change it to ports 1-4 which ever is free.Originally posted by greeneyI was actually looking for the COM port assigner you got on the disk - anyone have a copy of that?

Thanks for the files, i will try and download them shortly and use them with win7 7100. I am hoping that this will work better than the installation pack that prolific provides.
In case anyone else tries it with Win7,
- Compatibility mode wont help (Tried XP SP3, Vista, Vista SP2)
- Windows Update search for drivers wont find it either

I was having trouble with Vista aswell I tried the drivers that came with the adaptor and the drivers on this thread and nothing worked. So I done a bit of searching and used this 'Windows Vista driver for prolific chip USB Serial Adapters' plugged in the Nikkai usb adaptor and Vista recognised it no problem at all
this driver also worked on a Win7 install i did last night (see post 23)Comment
