ive bought a starview 5 box...
as i am new to all of this, do i just download the codes onto a memory stick and then "upload "onto the box???
please forgive my ignorance.....ite a gift for my dad, so i want to get it up and running as a surprise..........

Goto the downloads section get the Tutorial and firmware 2.03 read the Tut and all will become clear not a good time to be buying a box m8 read up on Nagra 3 thread

Not that i am aware why whats wrong with 2.03????????? to be honest i doubt that there will be now N3 is spreading over the country

i kept getting that not a file ird shit. the problem is ur usb mate. you need to use just a standard usb i had a cruzer sandisk one and it wouldnt work with mine i borrowed a mates and it worked straight away. so try diferent usbs it will work.

Thats strange cos i use a cruzer sandisk 4gig np what so ever you sure yours is not a clone m8 from far east? They do exist

I have exactly the same problem where it kicks an error message when accessing the bin file "not a file of this IRD". How do I get around that??

also check what box you have and what firmware you downloaded as sv4=usb1 and sv5=usb2 are not the same as both boxes have their own firmware also make sure file is not compressed.

if any of u are having problems with the starview 5 box n u are losing channels update the box with version 2.03 and all the channels will cum bk.

V2.03 is working fine, check here to see if your area has gone to nag3 http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...w-cards-93125/
If you are still ok then factory reset & auto scan all should be back ok, don't forget to turn keycode on > menu 1570 >

if my area is set 2 get new cards does this mean im screwed
