Starview 5 - firmware

I guess people are impatient because, like me, they were told that the firmware for the starview 4 box would work. Thats what i was told by the nice man from Wiz Sat

Ok so i'm considering buying starview 5. However I was wondering if there are going to be major problems with the firmware for the first few months?
so would it be better to get a starview 4 instead because it's tried and tested as it were?

hi bought one of these starview 5 boxes delivered today havnt got a clue what to do have my memory stick (ready 4gb) can someone please give a newbie a really easy description of what to do thanks so much

Most hardware and software has teething problems the choice is entirely yours if it helps lots have been sold even i have one on order

Hey guys BE VERY CAREFUL!!!
my m8 picked up a starview 5(usb2) last friday and tried to load the SV 4 firmware on it and now it fcuked up, its showing 0000 and he cant get any response from it! Its just frozen.

So dont try to load any old firmware on it, just wait for the correct firmware to be released or your box may fcuk up as well!

Im sure that you dont need anything else to get freeview so you can plug it in now

yes, you can get the freeview channels on the sv5 even without the software, just go into instillation and scan for channels - and here's hoping the software gets here soon...

when i set emu i pressed menu to exit when i should have pressed exit DOH btw it all works fine so far
