Starview HD Combo LAN & NON LAN STBs

Hi just got the Hd lan combo and looking into the set up next downloading the firmware all very scary only used to some think with a set of wheels

put firmware file on root directory of USB, power of box, insert USB, Power on box, seclect USB from menus, select firmware file, select SW+ALL DATA. Do not remove USB until box has rebooted fully. Scan your cable area for channels and keep of the adult channels!!

SW is the latest FW, but whats "ALL DATA"...is that the CCcam software..etc?

Not sure, but even for other boxes the installation file asks you to select all data. i though it was the channels but that you have to make/restore backup yourself. Even for the non-lan box it asked you to select all..so my advice is just do as it says.

ok ta....will upgrading to the latest 22 january fw erase all my channels....or will they be left as they are ? i mean the channels for sky...not too bothered about the cable channels list........cos its taken me ages to sort out and delete the unwanted ones....ta

Hi, can you please upload your channels dump file on here somewhere, as many people would be interested. Does your channels list contain only the FTA/FTV channels? no point having the scrambled ones becuase the box does not decrypt them.

I my self is having problems doing a satellite channels search/scan.

yes, works well on cable channels.

Hi Im new to this so I maybe asking a really silly question:
I currently have a Starview HD Combo plus box, with the LAN port on the back. I can see majority of the channels however Ive got limited HD channels, such as veiwing non FTA in HD (ie S**y S***ts in HD). Any one with any ideas how to get these channels? Your help will be much appreciated

hi im reading all messages on this hd combo, an it looks like most are having problems of some sort, is it worth me buying one of these combos or should i just get the older starview version wich im told are not a problem an easy to get up a running.
