    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

Also as already pointed out cant pay/wont pay was successful against the poll tax. It would be successful against this tax too. Yes there may be the odd 1 or 2 end up in prison but the odds would say that prison wont be the automatic sanction. Most poll tax people who ended up in prison were people the courts tried to make an example of eg Tommy Sheridan and the like. My brother never ever paid it and got it written off...eventually, which ****ed me off at the time as I bottled it and paid up ..Kay sera sera

DUG, no one gives a stuff about prison because the courtrooms will be that overstretched and the police and prisons too that it wont even get that far and if it does then so what, take the 14 days, or 30days (which gets halved anyway), who cares, no one I know, you must live in the land of wimps, , anyway, this is yet again going off topic man.

I'm not interested in the if's and but's of what happens if you dont win your case, I'm interested in winning a case and thats all !

i give up man, so are we talking about the poll tax now or the bedroom tax ?

If you guys want to sit all night talking about the polltax and going to jail etc then carry on, I will pick the story back up when we speak about the original topic of "The Bedroom Tax".

People will be evicted though, and taken to court for the debt. Housing associations fund their business plans based on income from rents, and lend from the banks. If they dont get the money in, they will have to take people to court. Housing Association, cannot take the government to court, they can only take the tenant to court and there is no way HA's can write off this debt.

This does not mean that they will get the debt in, however, people will be pursued. It is then up to the court what they do with the debt? I am not sure what I judge will do, no one knows until we get there. I can say that any case will be judged on the points in law. The rent hasnt changed, can you afford to pay? I think that in most cases any solicitor will be able to prove that people have a means to pay, but choose not to.

This can be demonstrated by rental income not changing, how many jobs has the tenant applied for, have they worked with the housing association to plan or structure the debt, do they smoke or drink - this last bit is now picked up by new tenants must take a financial management awareness course with RSL's or HA's.

It is a polarising debate I am am for supporting the most vulnerable in our society, but I think we need to make people more accountable, and try to get them to understand when on benefits if you want something over and above what you need, you will have to pay for it and manage your income as the days of the nanny state are nearly over, and things will get tighter and tighter, and harder and harder.

No one is getting richer from this, the Government will defo save money, but no tories are getting richer, just the big debt the country has hanging over it will be reduced - slightly.

You make some good points and then put it all in perspective with your last sentence, The big debt the country has will be reduced slightly.

A drop in the ocean TBH, is it worth all the hassle it's going to cause for people just for the sake of reducing the national debt which will never ever be repaid.

I know our debt is massive, but when I say slightly, it is still something huge like ?480m a year, so over 5 years, that is ?2 billion.. Which is a lot, but that is small in comparison to our debt, which is in excess of ?100 billion.

But every little helps, as you would be well aware.

If you don't pay it they will just deduct your money for the BTax before you get your money, no prison no courts needed. Simple.
                            Sir Alex Ferguson in 1988

"This isn't just a job to me." "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else - dramatically."

ok I'm back, that didnt take long, .

Please explain again how someone on the long term sick that wont be able to work probably ever (but not on DLA), in other words, on the most basic benefits really, they have no kids and no other means of income.

They cant afford to feed and heat just now, they dont have a spare 5p never mind ?50 per month.

Please tell me again how these people pay the money ?
                              ------------------------------------------------------

And while youz have went off topic constantly, why not bring in the 50p Tax instead of the 45p Rich people or mansion tax (whatever you like to call it) they were laughing all the way to the bank at getting that instead of the 50p.

Now, that 5p Rich persons tax would more than sort out all the countries problems instead of raping the poor and vulenrable !

                              It makes me sick !

as far as I know mate, it wont be decucted automatically from peoples benefits, it will go to court and thats why I said all the systems will collapse because the courts wont cope, the police wont, the jails wont and even the social security offices will struggle to cope.
