I have a wii that is pretty much fresh out the box (well it was Xmas morning) and it's bout time I got one use out of it...*

Reading the guide it seems like all I need to do is download the MMM files, whack em on a SD card, click a few buttons and PRESTO i'm ready to go.

This all seems a little easy, or is that really all there is to it?

I'm on my way home from work to give it ago, but just wanted to get this point straight before I started.

    Thanks*

thanks for the guide. followed it step by step and everything works perfect.

i understand that uloader version 5 is out. are there any instructions on how to update the 4.9a to 5?

any files needed? or does 4.9a have a online update function?
Do i need to install any new cIOS's thats not listed in the walkthrough?

I've also been able to install a few VC games via a wad file. they appear as channels however when i try to start a game, it goes to a black screen with some japanese text in the middle of the screen. don't know whats wrong, however if i leave the wii for about 2-3 minutes, it auto reverts back to the channels menu.
ps. i have a jp wii.

      Anyone got any ideas?

          ck-ok is right

          just launch uLoader <Start>

          Then press <Home>

          Press <A> on the <+>

          And select uLoader <Update>

          Then Uloader will update automatically

I want to try this one, but I'm worried, so what do I need to do so that I don't lost my Wii in case I brick it. Can I do some kind of backup of the BIOS/firmware? If I brick it, what can I do?????? Specially, if I brick it before doing that NAND backup...

What is the needed hardware? A 1Gb SD Card and an external HD? I have a 400Gb SATA HD on a USB case, can I use it? Can I access files through WiFi in the Wii?

ALSO: Do I need to use the network to softmod it using complete4_2?

              Hi

Ive recently bought an external hard-drive to use instead of discs, but I am wondering what files to put on the drive? Do I put the game .iso file? Or the game .rar file that I downloaded?

If it's the ios, my hard-drive wont let me copy .iso's onto it, saying that there's not enough room (but there is, there's 141GB). I can put other files on it, just not .iso?

Edit: Looked into this and apparently most hard drives dont take files over 4GB unless you do something to them first - anyone know what?

use this program for pc, Digital Kaos - Downloads - wbfs manager 3 format your hdd with it,then you can put your iso's on it,all 4gb wont be copied onto it just the game part so you will get loads more on it than you think

                  Modd Wii and priiloader

Hey! The old method didn't worked for me, I couldn't install the priiloader... I followed the alternative steps.. but still doesn't worked for me.. I had to pull out de power everytime I tried another step, so I eventually stopped.. I'm glad there's an update!!!!

                  But I have a 2 questions:
First, I have followed the steps till:
                  Method A

A1. Copy the contents of the pack you downloaded above onto the root of your SD card keeping the folder structure. Overwrite any existing files.

A2. Power on your Wii and go into the Homebrew Channel.

A3. Load GP DOP-IOS MOD. Press A to continue

A4. Press down to select ?Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning.? When asked choose to load IOS from SD. Follow any further prompts and press A when it finishes to return to GP DOP-IOS MOD menu.

So I got this steps now in the Wii , homebrew channel, dvdx and instal ios that accepts fakesigning. Can I now just overwrite them with this updated 4.2 zip, or do I have to remove them first?

Second, is priiloader included with this updated zipfile? Cause I want a backup just in case if the wii bricks after softmodding it...

Hope to hear from ya soon!

                  Thanks!

format sd card and put new files on,preloader is not included, and you dont need it to make a backup you do that with bootmii.everything you need to know is here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...option-108883/

Sorry to appear stupid, before I put this Wii 4.2E softmod onto a memory card, do I first have to install the homebrew channel, and if so will I therefore need 2 memory cards? (ie 1 for the homebrew ch, and 1 for the softmod?)

Anyone use this (whats the verdict?) or have any recommendations for a better alternative?
