Were is the safe upgrade to 4.2 page? as i have accidentally deleted the wrong ios files. So i am looking to redo the mod as when i put an original game in it asks for me to up grade so im assuming ive done something wrong

i am totaly new to this havent got a clue what is going wrong with mine but i got an app for softmod for the 4.2E on the wii done the homebrew thing then i get stuck on the ios 37 part so i quit is there an easier way to do this i read most your stuff on here but you make it sound so easy please help, all the best wizardjay

Is there any reason i cant get usb loader gx to reconise my HDD now uloader does but some games still annoyingly freeze on boot can anyone help !! Neogama wont reconise it either ??

How did you format your drive? and what format?
did you have a look online to see if anyone else has the same problem or has known to get that model working?

Obviously two main ways to prep the drive is via the loader itself or with WBFS manager on your pc.

If i get some time I might to a picture tutorial on how to use WBFS Manager and get the drives ready.

Hi guys, I'm kinda noob(ish) to nintendo wii. Have just used this guide and it was easy and everything worked perfectly for brand new black nintendo wii limited i got as a weading gift. Got WD 500 Mypassport essential and it also works (checked some compatibility site and it said that one workd perfectly and my wife wanted a "preety one").
Anyways the only problem I have is i mentioned we could buy another wii mote and nunchuck + balance board (thougth it would be fun for some games) - now Wii fit plus wants me to update the software - don't wanna brick my wii so ofc i didn't do it, but let's say my wife is dissapointed we spent so much money on a game she can't use (wii fit plus) - I wanna know, in adition to the files given here in this tutorial for 4.2e softmod ("it's eaven harder to do it wrong now..."), wich IOS or whatever i need to copy/install to my wii to be able to play original wii fit plus?
Thanks for uploader for nice softmod guide/software (although - it was my first time, i rly had some trouble about installing homebrew channel, had to use another site/thread for some aditional data about that - u could explain that part a bit more for the noobs like me, not just say first install homebrew channel), also for any and every advice for getting wii fit plus to work.

Hi mate i formatted a while ago with wbfs an all worked fine untill i redid the steps u mentioned think i might back up with wbfs manager an re formatt see if that solves it thanks great tut by the way mate

Hi, This is my understanding.

a) The games may install IOS files if they are not on the system.
b) If an IOS file is over written you can then re-replace it with a custom IOS file.

Couple of options:
a) let it do the patch and then re-apply the tutorial steps if anything doesnt work.
b) find out what IOS the game needs and manually copy it on. (I had a quick look online and couldn't see which IOS it was).
c) when you backup a game you have the option to remove this 'update' step so it won't prompt. perhaps this is something that will help.
