        Hope this helps

I have tried at least half a dozen "tutorials" and have yet to have one that works on a 4.2e
I keep trying to use a Loader GFX and it says I need cIos 222 i have tried 5.1 installer to update to 222 but it locks up... any ideas?

Well I don't know whats that different with 4.2E but USB Loader GX and the other two use cIOS249 by default or cIOS222, cIOS250. I've said before I wouldn't bother with Uloader 5.1.

Which tutorials have you been following?

Right, I have followed the modmii tut to the tee. I have USB Loader channel, I have used WiiBackupManager to format the drive (I am using a 16gb Sandisk Cruzer Slice) in WBFS and to transfer a Wii back up game (007 Goldeneye). When I point and click on the channel page, USB Loader says 'Please connect a USB drive'. If I click on start it shows a splash page for a split second and resets. Any Ideas? Also as a noob is there a Glossery for all the WAD's, cIOS's, IOS's? If I had an idea what they did It'd be a start!!

make sure that you have the drive in the correct port if its lying down its the bottom one.
try using Digital Kaos - Downloads - wbfs manager 3 to format the drive and to load your isos

I have playing with loads of drives over the weekend - mostly with no luck, various USB controllers.

You need to remember to make the partition active and have the 2 folders ("apps" and "usb-loader") on the drive.

Thanks guys. So just a sanity check. The USB drive has to have 2 x partitions, one FAT32 partition to house the usb-loader and wbfs folders and another WBFS partition to house the game image? I have just been formatting the USB drive in WBFS and using WiiBackupManager to put the game image on.

Just format the whole thing as FAT32 and WiiBackupManager will put the images in the WBFS folder

Not really if it is a small drive format it all to fat 32 wii backup manager will create a wbfs folder on the drive to house the games and usb loader gx is happy to read from a fat 32 drive, but remember your gx folder must be inside your apps folder on the drive

Almost that simple, just read and follow the instructions to the letter but you need to use a maximum size of 2gb sd (not sdhc) card for the install it cannot be done via usb flash drive

thanks for that mate, cant seem to find the instructions once iv opened the rar file or do i have to load the modmii exe then it gives me instructions, have not loaded it yet as dont have my wii at the moment, one more thing is it ok to use a card reader to copy the files onto the sd card as my pc does not have a sd card slot so only way for me to get them on the sd is by adapter will that be ok.

                            cheers

The instruction are built into ModMii.
